One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Rooms are the standout. Tastefully decorated, warm and more akin to a luxurious apartment than a cold "cookie cutter" room at one of the many five star chains present in the city. We booked directly through the Altstadt Website which allowed us to consider upgrading to a suite upon arrival for a...

The hotel was very charming and people there were very nice. We would love to go back and see more of Vienna and get to know other rooms of the hotel. We loved breakfast, with many different types of breads, and very delicate and tasteful options.

A cool hotel with it´s own style. Old building with paintings and art. I really liked the style and have never stayed on a hotel like this. Personal style and very good service. Great breakfast. A small bar, but they were doing som constructions, so it was a pop-up bar. I really recommend this hotel

We stayed here 1 night and since we were traveling with our daughter. We had requested for a baby cot. The hotel told us that the standard room would be a bit small with a baby cot so they upgraded us to a suite with a roof terrace!! We have stayed in many hotels and this was definitely the largest...

We enjoyed the breakfast of high quality as well as the thee time. As I mentioned before, we were pretty disappointed by the room . Small bed, small quilts 1 pro person in a double bed ( funny) Poor curtains, bad color choice , copy Empire wardrobe en quite small. Bathroom no comment . was perfect.

Just had a lovely stay at the Altstadt. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful, the breakfast is amazing and the helpfulness of the staff is beyond compare. They give you a map with recommended restaurants in the area. We ate at 5 of those restaurants and they were all great.

The hotel had so many nice little touches, from complimentary afternoon tea to candy on your pillow. The breakfast was just lovely. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, only a ten minute walk from the Museum Quarter. We loved our stay!

There is no better hotel than this place. You see and feel that the team here loves their job and pay attention to details. Great breakfast, free tea and cookies in the afternoon, nice bar area, great selection of wine and drinks, outstanding sleeping quality, all really very good.

Very nice place with a poshy aura. The only drawback was the pillows. But I was provided with another one when asked. The art is a little bizzare, but fun. The breakfast was great indeed. There is a large garbage dump outside the windows which can be loud, and there is a lovely pool hall downstairs which is open late...

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
