If you are looking for a place to stay and not so expensive, I recommend this hotel. 2 minute walk from the subway (U2 Rathaus). if you prefer to explore on foot, they are near the rathausplatz and you can walk through the Universitätsring and discover the Parlament, Volksgarten, Burgring, etc. or you can take de tranmway (1 or 2)....

The Pension is situated in the very center of the city. Nice place. But for 2 grow-ups and a kid is small especially bathroom. But the lining is clean, the rooms are getting clean every day. The breakfast is ok, but the buffet is very small for that amount of quests((. Parking is near by and the price is only...

Location in center in quiet street with free parking on weekend. Large and clean rooms, only bedroom could be larger. Situated near University in old large palace with simpatic staff and old architecture and interior. Good for overnight stay in city center for reasonable price

Checked in at 1st June 2016, with my friend. Our flight was delayed from Rotterdam, so reached the hotel at about 12 at night. The check in time was upto 11.30pm, so decided to call them and tell beforehand, but they didn't pick. But we didn't have any problem during check in. Cosy bed and clean & beautiful washroom. Breakfast...

Stayed here in May 2015 for a night with a friend. Good location, friendly staff, only bad thing is that there's only one plug in the room. Couldn't say anything else bad about the place. Would recommend it for your stay in Vienna as its cheap and nice rooms.

Location is good! Near a metro station and a 10-15min walk from the city centre. Our first room (veryyy small) had some hairs in the bathroom, so we got a new one. Bigger ánd clean. Breakfast is fine, enough choice but nothing special. Staff spoke English. But all in all very overprized. But I believe that's normal in Vienna. Would...

The room was clean, although it needs some refreshment: wallpapers, shower, hair dryer, TVs and so one. The breakfast was a little bit poor in comparison with standard breakfast in Vienna: no yoghurts, no warm buffet, lack of vegetables. But the location of the Pension is just amazing for those who want to enjoy walking tours around city centre and...

The hotel is located in a nice area, no noises at night, no weird people roaming around and just some steps from the Rathaus, from which the city centre is just 10 minutes walking. The rooms are narrow and minimal; we had a four-bed room and there was practically no place for opening our suitcases. Breakfast is sadly poor, with...

The bathroom was clean. Staff very cold and a bit unfriendly. Notice : My TV does not worked for 2 days. I asked the staff to...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
