We stayed here for 6 nights. It was a belated 25th Anniversary present to ourselves. The room we were initially given was not bad, but my husband asked if we could upgrade. The lady on reception, Caroline, was super helpful & showed my husband the rooms available. We only upgraded to Superior, but it was a fabulous room & en-suite.... More

Very interesting hotel - the decor was very quirky, but I liked it. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious. However be prepared to walk for about 20 minutes before you reach the centre of town - which can be a challenge in summer temperatures.

The staff at this hotel made our Vienna vacation wonderful. They were extremely helpful. The included breakfast was plentiful and delicious. And the room was comfortable. The sights were easily accessible by the underground transportation. Highly recommend this hotel.

Travelling as a group of seven we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Der Wilhelmshof. We were greeted by the very friendly and helpful Annamaria. All front desk staff were there to assist when needed. The artistically themed rooms were a pleasure to entry after a busy day exploring the city and surrounds. Room services and daily servicing were done... More

Outside the main old town but close to Praterstern for both over and underground rail services make the entire city accessible from this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and looked newly renovated. Even though we were facing the road there was barely any noise from the traffic. The bathroom was large, well appointed and again spotless. The breakfast was... More

A good hotel near the Praterstern train station. Rooms are clean and well equipped with a large led TV and a very nice bathroom. Breakfast is typical Austrian with some additional choices. Service was a little bit too slow. However, I have enjoyed my staying. I will come back in case I visit Vienna in the same neighborhood.

Stayed there for 4 nights. This is a quiet and clean hotel with pleasant atmosphere. The single room was small but with everything I needed. The staff were all friendly and I liked the outdoor garden. Der Wilhelmshof is a nice hotel but next time I prefer to stay somewhere closer to the city centre.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
