This is the first of two hotels we used while in Vienna. The Austria Classic is in a section of town that is surrounded by shops, restaurants, small groceries, bars and is very convenient to the U Bahn. The room we had was small but comfortable. The shower was hot with good pressure, the radiator kept the room warm, there...

Hotel has great location: few minutes on foot from Prater and few minutes by metro to the center ( metro station is next to the hotel - 2 minutes). The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel has own parking place. In price are included very good breakfast and for relax there is sauna and fitness....

I stayed for 5 nights on business in this traditional style hotel and, whilst a 20 minute walk from the city centre, the location was great for me; easy to get to/from airport (S7 Euro 4.40 - 30 mins), close to public transport, shops, cafes etc close by. Rooms recently refurbished, quiet and very comfortable; excellent continental breakfast and very...

This small (78 rooms) hotel is well situated next to a public transport hub, connection to center, and 15 min walk from the center of Wien. I stayed 7 days and had no wish to stay elswhere. All staff are very friendly and helpful, while Markus got to me the last concert tickets to Musikveren, my initial room (good for...

Rooms and public areas are clean and functional, with a warm and friendly ambiance. The hotel is situated well strategically for both the business and pleasure traveler, close to a major bus/tram/underground hub and a few yards from Standards Austria's offices - at a GOOD price. heating worked well and efficient and room was serviced professionally. I was impressed with...

I am currently enjoying the sixth of seven nights at this gem and cannot help but gush over it. First off, the place is the all-round cleanest place I have ever stayed. Second, the staff was helpful and friendly but in a real sincere way...not the kind of hospitality that can be taught or trained, if you will. Third, the...

Friendly staff, large rooms and bathrooms, the whole place is spotless and a pleasure to stay in. Previous reviews have mentioned about the warm rooms, I must admit they are a fraction hot for me but opening the window solved the problem! Would I stay again .. Yes I would. Close enough to walk to the centre of town (15...

We recently stayed 2 nights and were delighted with our choice. We arrived by train from Budapest and changed at the Meidling station (bought a 24 hr group ticket from the machine) and then took the S Bahn to arrive at Prater station and from here the hotel is only a few minutes walk. This was easier than changing metro...

This hotel was clean and nicely decorated and the location is good, but the temperature in our room was turned up just way too high, even for a snowy December day in Vienna, and no amount of fiddling with the temperature controls helped. Also, whether through ignorance or laziness, one of the desk clerks gave us some wrong information that...

Dear Mrs. Monica, thanks so much for your review. I am sorry that you had difficulties with the heating and I kindly ask you to provide us with your roomnumber. Did you inform us during your stay about that siutation? I could not find anything on our maintenance list. Most certainly our team would have checked immediately if something was...

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The classic double rooms were very small but had everything you needed and clean. You need to ask at reception for a kettle etc as none in rooms. The breakfast was excellent and especially News Years Day with glasses of bubbly. Nice location and walk into the centre approx 10 to 15...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
