My wife and I stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are spacious and very well kept. The breakfast was well done with a nice selection. If you like to walk- we do, you can be at St. Stephan's in 30...More
We stayed at the Urban Hotel Columbia (or Pension Columbia) for a city break. It was well located and easy to get to - about a 10 min walk from the Rathaus U-barn. It has been recently renovated and the room was light, airy and...More
This accomodation just feels like home. I arrived in the evening and had information sent about how to get in. The moment you enter the Columbia you feel like entering a huge city apartment of your own. Every corner displays tasteful details, the breakfast room...More
Though a bit noisy from neighbour on first day (old building has limitations), it was still a good place to stay. Helpful staff, nice breakfast, clean.
One thing to improve: replace burnt lightbulbs and detached curtain. Then, it would be prefect.
I stayed 7 nights at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and freshly renovated. The location is not bad, you have to spend 7 mins by walking to the Rathaus. I did not have any problems with the Internet in my room. The breakfast...More
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of
overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
