The hotel is not very appealling and we were waiting for a while before checking in. The shower head had nothing to hang off correctly so you had to hold it for a shower and the rest of the bathroom is cramped. The breakfast we terrible. The bread was stale and there was a very poor selection of cheese and...

It is a small uncrowded hotel. Very pleasant place, with a classic style, and affable owners. Will go back whenever in Vienna. Free wifi, and air condition in each room (not trivial in Vienna). Breakfast was reasonable, and they even took care of airport transportation with reasonable price. Note that the street entrance is not marked, and looks as ordinary...

As you know Vienna can be discovered by foot. at good starting point is this Pension, tucked away in an appartment block close to the city centre. I agree with the other comments that it is a little difficult to find but the facilities have been upgraded recently on M floor and the staff are worth their weight in gold....

We stayed at this hotel last year when visiting Vienna for the Christmas markets. When we arrived we were a bit unsure of what to expect due to the old style lift and dark staircases, however don't let this put you off. The staff were welcoming and our room (standard double) was comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was the...

I stayed at this hotel last year and liked it enough to return. As others have said it is hidden with just a small sign on the doorway. The folks at the desk go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. On my first trip they had to call a doctor to our room and also found a...

I recently stayed at the Pension Residenz for three nights. It was very comfortable with an old-fashioned feel that I enjoy. I had a single room with plenty of room. The bathroom was very spacious with a very good shower. The location was terrific for walking, catching a tram or subway. The breakfast was a typical meal but with good...

We enjoyed our stay here. Must say I wasn't sure at first when entering the big old building but spent three nights here and loved the character of the place. Good location, close to ubahn, tasty breakfast, good service and nice clean rooms.

this hotel is located in a very chic area of vienna, close to downtown and convenient metro stations. It may seem strange, but the hotel is almost "hidden" inside a big ald building, so it has many floors and shares the building with familiaes, embassies, and so on. The staff was friendly enough and helpful, the rooms were antique but...

Spent 1 night at Pension Residenz in Vienna. Great location from the Rathausplatz Christmas Market. It's about 2 min walk. The owner/receptionist is very helpful and speaks english. Breakfast and free Wifi was included in our room. I didn't have a hard time finding the place. Downsides are bed-not so comfortable (firm) and I had to pay 10 Euro (1...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
