The location is just perfect with central Vienna at wlaking distance, 5 mintes from Stephansdom. The place needs an urgent upgrade. All rooms have a very vetuste feeling with many things that simply don't funtion anymore. Breakfast is fine but not really fancy. So, average quality overall. But for a city trip in such a vaste city, the location is...

We were in this central hotel in Vienna. The room is ok and clean but just average. Price is very cheap for a hotel in such a city like Vienna. The breakfast is OK. The staff is friendly and also nice. From my point everything is in walking distance what needs to be seen in the center Parking is not...

Rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast fresh and plentiful. The guest lounge was welcoming for a break from sightseeing. Staff are friendly and helpful - and the location is perfect for the old city & transport access. Local restaurants were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel. I was travelling solo for the first few days and felt safe,...

Third time in a row in Mailberger hof Vienna. Nothing changed actually. Very good quiet and somewhat shy location in the centre of the city. 200 to 300 m from the metrostation between Karlsplatz and Stephansplatz. Very nice people at the reception, willing to help you. 24/7 tea and coffee available downstairs! Nice and quiet rooms. Nice and good hotelroom-cleaning...

For the prime location, this hotel is a great value for price. It is a bit dated and old fashioned elevator is tiny and not wheelchair accessible. But if you are healthy enough to not need a walker or wheelchair then it's a good deal (large stairway is easy to use). So called double bed was actually two singles set...

Mailberger Hof was our tour hotel while we were in Vienna and we can not say enough how great this hotel was. Great location, just off of one of the main pedestal street and close to all of Vienna's attractions and bus/metro stops. The front desk was very helpful in offering advise and arranging taxi service to the airport. Close...

I spent two nights in this delightful small hotel tucked away from the noise just off Kartnerstrasse, in Annagasse, but handy for everything in central Vienna. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of fresh fruit, tasty breads, hot and cold savoury food, cakes and fruit juice - a massive array. The breakfast room was peaceful and elegant. They brought me two...

Stayed at this very nice, small hotel in the historic center of Vienna for 4 nights while visiting during Christmas markets season. The rooms were spacious, equipped with an honor bar, with space to store a few items of my own. The included breakfast was very good, and coffee/tea/cold drinks were available all day in a lounge adjacent to reception,...

You're right in the heart of tourist Vienna. Restaurants and tourist attractions are close by, but the street is relatively quiet. The included breakfast is excellent. From the look of the floor plan: not all rooms are equal. Our room was spacious, well decorated, clean and quiet. We were extremely pleased with it - one of the best so far...

We arrived at 7pm and there was no one there to check us in. We waited at least 25 minutes after ringing and calling out that we were there. We wanted to get to the Christmas market at St Stephens before it closed. Finally, the desk clerk came and said he was fixing a problem in another room. Even when...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

“Paying for a superior room should get you more space”
  • The view from my skylight across the street
  • Plenty of room and storage space
  • Small storage space at the end of the bath or around the washbasin
  • Bath and shower enclosure - note the lack of handles/handrails
  • My spacious superior room on the fourth floor with noisy skylights
