When we come back to Vienna we will be staying here. This hotel has: -Delicious breakfast. -Fast internet. -Friendly staff. (The staff here are multilingual and willing to help plan day excursions such as visiting the wine country, going to museums, and figuring out the transportation system) -Great location. -Comfortable beds.

Stayed at the Hotel Kugel as part of Rick Steeves tour of Austria. Perfect location. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping and transit. Good walk to the city centre. Reception is small given the number in our tour group. Rooms were clean. Front desk staff friendly. Only complaint would be the size of the bathroom and shower area.

I cannot speak highly enough about Hotel Kugel. From booking with them to checking out, they were nothing short of fantastic regarding the package, choice of room and tips how to get to the hotel and what to do when in Vienna. We opted for the Romantic package which included the Vienna Card (invaluable travel and discounts to many sights),...

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Kugel for the Easter weekend. The staff was very nice and ready to answer any question or request! The room was quite big and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bed linens were freshly ironed! The only two negative points of the room: the bathroom was a bit old with the...

The Kugel is a wonderful and cozy authentic Vienna hotel in the heart of the best food and history that Vienna has to offer. The owners and staff give each and every guest their own personal attention

This is a very nice Hotel in VIenna, managed by very kind and nice people. If you look for a cold brand new steel and glass hotel, forget it. The hotel is in an historical building in a very pleasant quarter of Vienna, next to the uderground, close to the tram way (very diffused in Vienna) and a few steps...

I was back in Vienna on business, and Hotel Kugel was within walking distance to my appointment. As before, the personal service from the staff is the best. They even cooked up some "Styrian" scrambled eggs for the guests at breakfast - delicious! After expressing interest in some of the great regional Austrian beers, they pointed us in the direction...

We were in Hotel Kugel now already three times. Not only is it within walking area to the Mariahilferstraße and the Museumquartier, but around the hotel there are plenty of authentic shops and restaurants and also one of the most beautiful christmas markets (not so touristic as the others, with many artists and authentic food for a normal price) is...

The room we had was nice enough but a bit oldish (or traditional with goldpainting, red fabric) but it was nice. The beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom could have been refurbished a little. It's 50m from a tramway station and within walking distance from the city center. What was especially good was the service and friendliness of the English...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
