My friend and I stayed for four nights in this hotel. It was centrally located, and the room was warm and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The decor was a bit old-fashioned but in a good way. The buffer breakfast was of excellent quality. The staff was multi-lingual, friendly and helpful. The only problem was the WiFi. The signal was very weak and so I could not link my computer to the internet there.
We stayed at the Hotel Austria during the last days of 2021 (family 4 pax). The hotel is located in the heart of Vienna, in walking distance almost from all important sites you have to visit. The room was spacious, very clean, warm, with comfortable beds. Breakfast with enough variety and very good quality. There is no restaurant on site, but you will find so many just a few steps away Extremely helpful and kind front desk and staff generally. Reasonable room rate regarding the season of the year. I think the hotel offers everything a traveller needs. Full recommended!
For a three star hotel this establishment was excellent. From the minute we entered the concierge could not do enough for us. In fact he booked for us three good restaurants for our three nights before we even went up to the room. We had a family room with a large double and two singles for our boys. A bit tight but perfectly adequate with a good bathroom. We were allowed a late check out and they also arranged our airport pick up and return. Breakfast buffet was included and was more than good with plenty of everything - except for no crispy bacon. Maybe next time.
The hotel is old decoration but very comfortable beds and all is within walking distance If the hotel management reading these comments, then you should be very lucky to have Hermann Karigl as your employer Polite , has great knowledge gave us great restaurants recommendation.
We loved the location of this hotel. Staff was super helpful. Things seemed a bit dated, carpeting ect. Breakfast was OK, just a buffet nothing special. Asked for a quiet room and they delivered. Location was definitely key. Would stay again.
I’m genuinely shocked at the positive reviews this place has received. I usually leave reviews only when they’re positive but I really would like to in this case offer an opinion that goes against the typical 5 star. My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Austria this past week for 3 days. The positives: proximity to the train station and things to do cannot be beat. The U1 and U4 lines are like 1 min away. Also, the front desk people were generally helpful (2 of 3 of them were awesome. The men manning the front desk were absolutely pleasant and helpful) However…the negatives: I dont understand how people are saying this hotel was quiet. Every. Single. Night. I was up the entire night listening to people talking in the alleyway outside our window. Every single noise was amplified x10000. I could not get ANY sleep, even with the window closed. Now this may be very room-dependent. We had clearly the worst room in the entire hotel. 1st floor, right next to the stairs and elevator, the elevator door literally opened 1 foot from our room door and we could hear people talking in the lobby. Also, the woman manning the front desk was so rude for no reason. We went to breakfast one day at the hotel (which was fine) and I thought I had left my very expensive sunglasses on the table. Of course, I didn’t realize that they were still there until like 45 min later when I was across town. Frantically, my boyfriend called the hotel to ask the front desk if anyone had picked them up off the table. This was how the conversation went: Us: I’m a guest and was wondering if anyone has reported seeing sunglasses on a table in the breakfast area. I think I left them about 45 min ago. Her: I’m busy right now I can’t check. Us: ok, would you mind asking someone to check? Her: no I cannot do that. Like I said I’m busy. Then she put us on hold…then she hung up. Genuinely one of the worst examples of customer service I’ve ever seen. All in all, if you stay here, recognize that the customer service may be lacking and your room could be VERY loud if it faces the alley way.…
This hotel was so lovely. Very old fashioned looking but very clean. The bathroom and toilet are separate on either side of the entrance hallway to the room which was large enough to store cases and had hooks to hang up jackets. The room had a wardrobe desk and table chair and double bed with the added touch of a nice little Wammer wafer on the bed when you arrive (I was a little disappointed there was one on the 2nd day! ;¬P). The room had double door windows that opened onto a view of the street. The room was warm in the night so it was good to be able to let some air in. Breakfast was delicious with scrambled or boiled eggs, ham and sausages. Then cereals, fresh chopped fruit as well as apples, kiwi bananas etc. There was also a range of bread, croissants, cheeses and ham. Drinks were tea, coffee and a range of around 4 fruit juices. Plenty of choice fof everyone. Would definitely stay here when u return to Vienna.…
We spent 3 nights in Hotel Austria and loved it. Great location, excellent breakfast, great customer service, spacious room and quiet environment. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great stay.
This hotel is really nice with friendly staff. Typical Austrian feel. Breakfast was great with a good selection. Location was perfect right in the middle of the old Vienna city centre. And quiet at the same time. Highly recommend this property for a nice and comfort stay
Good choice for my trip in Vienna. Very close to the Stephansplatz. Quality, nice workers... It is affordable as well in a very expensive city. Next to the river, you can go on foot almost everywhere.
