Detailed Reviews
This former palace is located in a great place for walking to most of the tourist sites, with the added bonus of being in a very quiet street. The room I stayed in was huge and had both a double bed and double sofa bed. The room had a bath as well as a shower which was great to relax in after a long day of exploring. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, even handed out maps with the hotel circled.
The breakfast was small but had a wide range of food available. I particularly enjoyed the multivitamin juice and the lemon mint water. I was glad to see the vegetarian items of the cooked breakfast were kept separate to the meat options. The hotel is situated in a location where there are no less than 10 restaurants within a 5 minute walk. I would like to make a special mention to Le Wei. A Chinese restaurant which is not only cheap but serves the best Asian dishes I have had in Europe.

We spent three happy days here! We stayed on the fifth floor overlooking the park in the square. No noise from other rooms, corridor or from outside other than nice laughter and shouts occasionally from the children at the park. The rooms were not modern but our park view, spacious room had everything we could need for a great stay. Comfort, cleanliness,WiFi, tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, and good in bathroom & shower.
We loved the breakfast; lots of choice and good quality. Special thanks to the lovely ladies in the breakfast room who were warm, friendly, helpful and always kept the area tidy and well-stocked.
The location was great... 4 mins walk from good value airport bus stop (Vienna Airport Lines Value) - takes only 20 mins- and close to other public transport links. We, however walked everywhere! City centre is 15/20minutes walk only.
Would most definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed here recently whilst on holiday with my wife and baby daughter. The staff were very helpful, friendly and kind. Nothing seemed to be any trouble. The breakfast provided was varied and tasty and our daughter was always well accommodated. The room was spacious and immaculately clean with a lovely view of the Rudolfplatz. A cot had been prepared for our little girl who found it very comfortable and enjoyed the cosy bedding. It did get hot during the night as other guests have commented here but we found that opening the window was more than sufficient. The location was excellent, on the one hand the square was quiet with a children's playground and nice local coffee shop and restaurant whilst on the other hand the major site's of the Innere Stadt were within walking distance. For excursions further afield there was a U-bahn station five minutes round the corner. I have been to Vienna on numerous occasions and I can certainly say that we would stay here again.

I was here over Christmas with a friend of mine and there wasn't anything to write home about. When we checked in, the staff weren't the most welcoming, so we made our way to the room and it was quite dark and outdated. We were in two military sized twin beds and the room itself was a bit stuffy with old wall to wall carpeting and sweltering with central heating.
We were in a basic standard room, but paid a premium of $180 a night. While I do know it's a busy time in Vienna, but replenishing bottled water in the room, and providing slippers in a room that has a musty carpet is basically the bare bones expectation. When I asked the staff politely about this, but gentleman at the front desk said, "welcome to traveling in this part of the world", assuming that I never have, which was condescending and quite rude. He also told me that I could request slippers, which would've been helpful to know when I checked in and not on the last day. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and there are far nicer places you can stay.
I will say the hotel is conveniently location and is in close proximity to the main Christmas markets. Aside from that, there was no other highlight.

This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Vienna, there is also a multitude of supermarkets, restaurants and bars locally. Less than a 10 min walk to the nearest underground station, which will connect you to anywhere in Vienna.
Check in - relatively smooth, young gentleman at reception who appeared relatively new and just handed us our keys with minimal information. There was a well appointed lobby with computers and a bar area.
Room - on the small side, but this is to be expected for a hotel of this period. Beds very comfortable and soft. Complimentary water every day which was appreciated. The room key, as mentioned in previous reviews, was a quite bulky A6 size and about 1cm in width - the hotel should consider changing these to credit card sized room keys similar to those used in other hotels we’ve been to before, they’re a lot easier for guests to carry.
There was a promotion on at the hotel with options to have a free drink on the house or €2 donation to charity, in exchange for no daily room service, to reduce environmental impact.
We did not opt for breakfast, as it was quite expensive and there are plenty of local bakeries where you can get a nice coffee and pastry for much less.
We found staff on reception to be quite reserved and not always that helpful when asking for advice, but no major issues.
Overall good hotel in a great location, a few bits to work on but would recommend.

Great location, its about 10-13 min walk to Stephansdom, nearby there is a supermarket and 5-6 min walk metro station Schottenring (Line U4 and U2) so its perfect to go either on foot or via mentro. The room was equipped with tea pot, coffee and tea, fridge, safe box , and every day they put a bottle of water after housekeeping. The breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful and supportive as we had a problem with breakfast ( the reservation er did from booking.com with breakfast was not fixed with that option , so the staff did a compensation for that bad experience) !
Thanks a lot .

Had a wonderful stay here. We had a spacious family room overlooking the park which was clean, comfortable and had good facilities. Bed comfortable, shower powerful with plenty of hot water and air con worked well - as very hot when we visited. Room has a safe and also a fridge - which we kept drinks in for use the following day.
Vienna airport lines bus stop is 5 minutes walk away, two metro stations within 5 minutes walk either direction (schwedenplatz or shottering), there are 2 supermarkets literally round the corner and the city centre (main shopping area/St Stephan cathedral) took us around 10 minutes to walk. Plenty of restaurants either local or in city centre yet hotel in a quiet area. We found Vienna an easy city to walk around.
Breakfast had plenty of choice - hot sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs, cold meats, cheese and rolls as well as croissants, pastries, fresh fruit and cereals. Staff at breakfast were polite and attentive and bring the choices of coffee or tea to your table. We found the breakfast room never overly busy and always well stocked.

As far as European Hotels under €100 a night go K+K Palais Hotel is pretty tough to beat. From easy check-in and check-out to a location on the Danube near local public transportation arrival and departure are flawless. Dated but cleanly one can expect small rooms but everything necessary including strong WiFi and good water pressure. Add in free bottled water, a well-equipped 24/7 gym and quality housekeeping and this is a gem in its category.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel and it was lovely, nice size rooms that were lovely and warm. Breakfast was very good as we're the staff in the breakfast room. Walking distance to restaurants, river cruises and the metro which cost €2.40 per trip whether it was one stop or 10 and easy to use.
The staff in the hotel were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

They certainly do, however they are the usual small size , and were not replaced every day . However there is a Aldi just around the corner if you require more . We actually took a small bottle of conditioner with us for this trip .
Plachuttas Gasthaus am Oper is THE place for Kalbschnitzel! It's near the Opera Haus.
I know they are in the bathroom, but since my hair is short to non-existent, I can't say more.
