InterCity hotel is very good choice. Perfect location on main shopping street, directly on undergraund and Westbanhof, and at walking distance to the historical centre. Anyway, free ticket for public transport is always included in room price (you will get it at the desk during...More
Nice clean hotel with great location as to shopping and underground. Rooms nice and comfy although not 4 star rating. We didn't eat in the hotel but had ours out side plenty cafe to choose from. All in all good value for money.
I've stayed at several Intercitys, they're all centrally located as this one is a few short steps from the Westbahnhof and Wien's great subway to downtown. OK so no A/C, if you're a tourist you're only there to sleep. Great breakfasts, and if you speak...More
We travelled from Paris to Vienna on the overnight train and arrived early at the hotel. The english speaking staff, thankfully, give us a room early.

It is located at Westbanhof, at Mariahilfer strasse, therefore has an excellent location.

Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening.
Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
