It's a quite old hotel that could be a much better one. It needs a good renewal in major areas including the lobby. Rooms are very spacious (I mean VERY), but look very old too. Staff is friendly but most of them don't speak english...More
The hotel staff were eager to please, very friendly and helpful. The ambience of the courtyard garden made for enjoyable relaxing evenings after returning from exploring Vienna each day. We felt that the staff took pride in their hotel and really cared for their guests....More
Old fasion hotel, that travels your imagination to another era. Good location, next to U-6 line. Very quiet neibourhood. The stuff was very friendly. Breakfast very tasty, not many choices though, but this is how they keep high quality.

There is the hotel's garage area which you can use for ~15 euros/day. They share the garage and in fact have only about 8 spots available there, so it may fill up. There are also a few free spots on the street just north of the hotel building. If those are full and you don't want to pay, you can also park anywhere in the neighborhood for the night free. There are signs that say when you can park there without a permit (if my memory serves me, 7pm-8am). You will need to wake up early in the morning to move your car to another space if you park in one of these spots. The hotel staff are very helpful in explaining where you can and cannot park.

We took the train when we stayed at Altwinerhof and you have to use the light rail to transfer. The train station is pretty far away from the hotel, but with the light rail across the street from the hotel, it would be pretty easy to arrive by train, hop on the light rail to the Gumpendorfer Strasse and walk across the street to the hotel.
Having the light rail across the way made staying at this hotel very easy.
