Lovely hotel and friendly people. Room i had was right at the end through a big heavy fire door ! Good job i have done weights as very hard to open. Nice to see a kettle in the room. Food passed the test both for breakfast and evening meal although it was a coach trip and i guess the food... More

Located in the 19th "hood" (Vienna is divided in neighbourhoods like Paris), it has very small apartments, almost impossible to move while you shower. But it's clean, it has 1h free wifi a day and it's close to a tram station.

love location, very safe to walk at night, very close to streetcar hotel is always clean, Staff friendly laundry room terrible. we always stay 2 weeks, laundry is a pain. I noticed this year wireless is available at 2 euros per hour? Not used to that its free at most hotels in USA.

Overall nice service, good facilities and nice size rooms. Also a good assortment at breakfast. However not quite sure of the 4 star rating. The decor is very 70's and overall in need of renovation. The rooms are clean as is the whole hotel and I would stay there again. Was there on business so area good but a bit... More

We arrived at the Franz Joseph after a long coach ride from Budapest. What a really nice surprise to find two FREE bottles of beer and water in the fridge in our room. Two small packets of Haribo on the beds.Nice little bathroom and small kitchenette. Twin very comfortable beds. Small balcony with table and two chairs. Very helpful and... More

This hotel 20 minutes by tram form downtown is a clean and comfortable place to spend a few days in Vienna. Big rooms, free wi-fi, complete buffet breakfast, nice staff, clean and quiet hoten in a quiet neighborhood with coffee shops , one supermarket and Mac Donalds close to the hotel. Good experience from me and my family.

The location is not an advantage for no reason. Even those who need to go to Modul Uni, not to choose it because in the evenings they need to go downtown, therefore it is better to stay downtown and travel during the day to the Univercity. The hotel in theory classifies itself as 4 star, but 3 are too generous.... More

Staying in Dobling

Neighbourhood Profile
Dobling
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
