We went to Vienna for a second honeymoon, leaving the kids at home (with relatives). We found Vienna to be a beautiful and romantic city. The Royal Hotel is located right next to the Cathedral in the heart of the city. The staff were all friendly and went out of their way to assist us. The breakfast was delicious. We...

this hotel could not be a 4 star. The location is without no doubt the best thing about this hotel. It is right in the middle of Vienna - close to St. Stephans Cathedral, the subway and a fine supermarket, but several things were not good. When we arrived we were shown to our room by a member of the...

This hotel was located as close to St Stephens Cathedral as you can get. Ideal for those travelling into Vienna Centre via the underground. The reception area was small but tastefully decorated with comfortable lounge furniture. Reception staff were extremlely polite and efficient and within no time at all we were settled into a very comfortable and clean room. Vienna...

Cannot beat the location. We had two rooms for a family of five. Hotel is older but the rooms were clean and functional and plenty big. Breakfast was great. Great base to explore Vienna from. Nothing like turning the corner jut a fre steps from the door and looking up to St. Stephen's.

I would recommend this hotel for leisure travelers but not for business travelers. Positives: - Ideally located next to Stephansplatz, shopping, grocery store, subway station - Breakfast buffet with lots of selection - Historical charm - Reasonablly clean rooms, good shower pressure Negatives: - Small rooms - No iron/ironing board in room - No reliable internet in room, must go...

4 stars rating refers to the great location of the hotel. The bathrooms were very old but clean. Very nice breakfast.

1.The garage fee is 29 Euros a day, instead of 24 Euros a day, as written on their website. 2.The breakfast room is too small, and when is crowded, cutlery and glasses are NOT quite CLEAN! 3. Complicated procedures for Internet: in room only with modem, with charge, at reception hall, the WLAN requires user & password.

The location is without a doubt the best thing about the hotel. It is literally on the side of St. Stefan’s cathedral and we can hear the bells at all times (this could also be very annoying). You are right next to the pedestrian zone and the subway station, which is nice. However, there is a supermarket across the street...

My mum and I stayed at the Royal Hotel during our four day stay in Vienna and had a fantastic time. The hotel is right in the centre, just around the corner from St. Stephen's platz and cathedral, a few minutes walk from the shops (designer and high street) and about ten minute walk from the Spanish Riding School and...

The staff were excellent is assisting us with our various requests for restaurant locators, room service and medical assistance. They were friendly and always willing to help. Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
