You would be hard pressed to find a better location. The Kaiserin is smack dab in the city center, right in the middle of the pedestrian strip, that is at your front door. Hotel is surrounded by restaurants, patios, and bars. There is a subway station about 20 feet from the hotel (Stephans Platz station). There is a grocery store...

There’s no need to look for something more central than this – a few paces off Karntnerstrasse and the Stephansplatz metro stop, you’re right in the heart of Vienna and still can get a very quiet room if you ask for one facing the courtyard off the street. There’s an oddness to this place that’s hard to articulate with its...

We just returned from an Austria trip where we stayed three seperate times at the Elisabeth. The weather was extremely warm and humid and I cannot describe how wonderful it was to come back to our clean, large, air conditioned room. The bathrooms were excellent in size and features. The front desk staff seemed to know us everytime we came...

As for this hotel my first impression was that it was in a great location, all the major sites that should be visited are very close. the hotel is 20m away from the busiest pedestrian streets. The service was excellent, clean rooms, air-conditioned. It seems as if the building was previously used for something else and after that it was...

Wow just doesn't seem to do this place justice. Centrally located to everything, yet very quiet. Our room was palatial (really), easily 800 square feet, canopy bed, enormous bathroom with immersion tub. The lobby looks spectacular in the pictures - it's grander in person. Breakfasts (included) were sumptuous feasts, and there was so much outstanding food that lunch became superfluous....

Stayed in a double room in May 2012. Great location (steps away from Stephansdom). Clean. WC with shower within room. No street noise. Breakfast is included. Front desk VERY helpful--bought concert tickets, ordered taxis, restaurant advice, etc. I have no negatives to relay. If you can afford it, stay here.

Just got back from a 3 night stay in Vienna and our city stay surpassed all expectations. My last trip to Vienna was as an impoverished student arriving from Italy via interail. This time we stayed at the Kaiserin Elisabeth which was an infintely better experience! The desk staff were exceptionally helpful offering to book concerts, recommend restaurants and book...

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
