The only problem with the Hotel Haydn is the street noise, as other reviewers have remarked. The street that the hotel is on is the city's shopping district and that translates to bright signs and a lot of traffic until fairly late. If you like to go to bed early, this can be a real nuisance. After about 11pm, though,...

We stayed at the Haydn Hotel in January 2006. Loved Vienna (Wien), hated the Haydn. Basically, the staff were rude and aggressive. The first room we were shown stank like cigarette smoke, in the second the bathroom stank like an open sewer. The rooms all face onto a very noisy main street, opposite the hotel there is a large construction...

This was my family's fourth stay at the Haydn Hotel, and we enjoyed this trip as much as the others. As always, the staff were gracious and very helpful. The breakfast room has been redecorated and the morning buffet is as excellent as ever. There is a great selection of shops, restaurants and even a supermarket a few minutes walk...

We stayed at the Hotel Hadyn for 2 nights and had a great time in Vienna! It is very easy to get to by subway and serves as a good base for exploring the city. The only problem with the location is that it can be a bit noisy at night if your room faces the street. There is no...

I have just returned from a six-night stay at the Haydn Hotel. OK, given that it is on the longest shopping street in Vienna, it can be a little noisy up 'til midnight but that's the only minus score. On the positive side, it is scrupulously clean, the buffet breakfast is great and the staff are courteously efficient. The subway...

The location is great. You're right in the shopping area and the metro station is very close. You can get to the St. Stephens church in about 10 minutes with the metro. All in all it is a nice little hotel with reasonable rates and a great breakfast.

If you value your sleep, then don't bother with this place. The first room we had shared a door to the room next door. It was like a funnel for noise and we could hear the couple next door do EVERYTHING! After complaining they moved us to a second room where we could hear the couple next door snoring through...

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
