The hotel has a great location, in the Neubau zone of the city, close to tram and metro. It a safe and quiet area. In order to go to the main attractions of the city you either go on foot (for example it takes 40 mins till Stephansdom) or by metro (max 15 mins to Stephan) There are two supermarkets...

What a lovely place to stay! The location is perfect for visiting Vienna. The rooms overlook the inner courtyard, which serve as a cafe/restaurant for locals and tourists. The room was small, but had everything and was spotless. The food in the restaurant was fabulous and very reasonably priced. It closes at 10 pm, so there was no problem with...

Interesting courtyard hotel in Neubau area with Interesting decor and nicely furnished rooms. I was surprised to find when opening what I thought was a wardrobe to find a mini kitchen with fridge and mini hob and sink.

Booked into this Hotel on a last minute deal and we were delighted with it. 5 minute walk from train station after travelling from Budapest. Very friendly, and polite staff who were young people and good at dealing with guests. Room was cllight, looked out over courtyard / eating drinking area and was everything you would expect from a more expensive...

Very nice building. The lobby leads into a riad style courtyard with the rooms on several floors overlooking. Spacious and comfortable room with good retro furniture. Nice bar/restaurant serving good Philippine food. Nice staff. Lively area but quiet in the evening.

We stayed 8 days in this hotel for a business trip. Usually this would be an exhausting experience but here we felt home and comfortable enough to recharge our batteries. We liked what they did with the place, mixing traditional and modern styles. There is a restaurant offering great food and they sometimes open their yard to local initiatives. This...

Booked this hotel based on other reviews and it exceeded our expectations. The room was very comfortable and clean. In fact, much cleaner than at 5 star hotel we stayed in while in Malta. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty to choose from, and the buffet was kept well stocked at...

We booked this hotel at the last minute, because we wanted to be near the Museumquartier, where we wanted to check some exhibitions. Although the pictures looked a bit nicer than reality, this is a nice hotel. Rooms and bathroom were clean enough and nicely furbished (although the carpet in the living room may be replaced - maybe it is...

Hotel am Brillantengrund is a comfortable accommodation in a quiet side street with easy access to central Vienna and the West Bahnhof. Andrea, who tends the front desk, is an exceptional receptionist - friendly and helpful., even to the point of searching in her purse for cold medication for us. The rooms are on the small side, but ours sported...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
