Just in the very centre of Vienna, close to all the sightseeing places. The hotel was very clean and the stuff nice! We had room 210,it was spacious with all the necessities. It was little loud during the night from the street, but im not complaining, small price for the excellent view and the atmosphere :) The breakfast was really tasty, everything fresh...

The Astoria hotel is located bang in the middle of the beautiful city of Vienna. The hotel is majestic and old worldly built somewhere around 1912. It's high ceilings and long passageways add charm to the hotel complex. The rooms although slightly on the smaller side are nevertheless cozy and comfortable. The absolute high point though is the location of...

The Astoria is right on Kartnerstrasse (near the begining) and across from the Albertina. Rooms are decent sized (not big but not overly small) and they actually have a double bed! (instead of the customary 2 single beds in most Vienna hotels). Breakfast is adequate but nothing to write home about but the people are friendly and the location cannot...

We stayed for a week to celebrate our 20th weding anniversary. We were given a warm welcome by Karin, who upgraded us because of the occasion and we were left a gift in the room on the day of our anniversary! Karin and the staff were always warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel has great character; the rooms are immaculate,...

This was our fourth visit to the Astoria Hotel as we try and visit Vienna every couple of years. We feel comfortable with this hotel location wise and now, from the last two visits, service wise. This is an area where I think things have really improved - and the correspondence I received as part of booking the room was...

I stayed here for 4 nights whilst on business. Was greeted by very friendly hotel staff on arrival and they helped me with all requests during my stay. The location is excellent with a wide variety of entertainment, food and shopping options when needed. Public transport is very close if required. The breakfast was god but I was disappointed by...

Hotel Astoria sits close to the Opera in the pedestrian Karntner Strasse, one of the main shopping area of downtown Vienna. Location is the hotel's best value, being 5 minutes walk from the Opera, Stefansplatz, Cafe Central, Hofburg Palace, etc.Closest subway station is the Stefansplatz one. The hotel itself is nice and the staff gentle. Some rooms are really spacious...

Spent 4 nights at the Astoria. A very traditional hotel with values to match. Our room was large (no. 9) with beautiful furniture, including large sofa, chairs and writing desk. The en-suite bathroom was spotless, and included a full size bath with wall mounted taps and shower. It also had a proper glazed shower screen rather than a curtain, so...

The Astoria is a hotel that I can truly recommend. The location could not have been better and the staff was most helpful in their recommendations, and knowledge of the city. They were able to get us tckets to the Opera which we greatly appreciated. William from New Jersey

We stayed here for a long weekend in January, Room 124. The room was large, and warm, but not overheated, which was important given that it was extremely cold outside. A classy, well run hotel, one of the high points being the breakfast, which other reviewers have mentioned; it wasnt cheap - 20euros - but worth it in the variety...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
