The hotel is in a great location just 10 minutes walk from Stephansdome and the historic city centre. The staff was welcoming and kind, they gave us the room at 11 despite that the check-in is at 15 o'clock. The room was quite nice, it was full white and modern. My only objection was that some of the furniture was...

Our four night stay in the Sofitel Vienna was a delight. This hotel is somewhat remarkable for its modern design, which contrasts the old world charm of Vienna city , and is a leader in European architecture! The hotel is conveniently located and has excellent views from most rooms, and from their breakfast venue and A la Carte restaurant on...

This hotel is really beautiful, it is clean and modern. The location is good and the service is superb. We really enjoyed our stay. Our favorite things were the spa-loved the hamam and the breakfast-it is incredible! We wouldn't stay where else in Vienna.

I've stayed here on multiple occasions, and it's one of my favourite hotels in Europe. The view from it's top-floor bar is stunning, as is the view from most rooms. Very modern, excellent service and a great location.

The views from the top floor restaurant may be the standout feature in the Sofitel Stephansdom but the service and facilities are not far behind. The rooms are modern and comfortable and there is a great spa.

I have never been a big fan of Sofitel and always thought they were too average for supposedly luxury hotels. But this one is an exception, it is wonderful property: - great location with all the things you want to see in Vienna within walking distance - fabulous view of the city from the top floor where you have breakfast...

A modern glass building houses the Sofitel in Vienna. The rooms are modern and decorated in a minimalist fashion. My room was large and the interior decorated in a monochrome grey with city view including the cathedral. The minibar is free (includes water and fruit juices). Bathroom amenities includes HERMES products. The leather on the furniture is showing some wear...

We have spent family weekend in Vienna and Sofitel made our stay even more perfect. Hotel is nice and rooms are very modern, yes white colour needs big attention and there was a little bit of dust here and there but overall everything was lovely. Food in the restaurant is very nice but 4 adults couldn't make to eat 2...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
