The hotel greets you with tapestry and charm, while the rooms are spacious and modern. I loved the contrast. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast very good, although not free with the room. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the 'hop-on-and-off bus,' the opera house, other sites, and shopping. I highly recommend the Derag Livinghotel... More

The hotel was wonderful. Staff was very helpful when I needed some boarding passes printed out, there is actually a mini fridge on the way to the rooms with free drinks (water, soda, etc), as well as a K-coffee machine which is a nice touch. The rooms are absolutely huge and so are the beds. You really could live here... More

This building is located at the city centre and manages to remain discrete to the taxi drivers and its surroundings. The receptionists were helpful and respectful. The apartment I stayed in was very comfortable and large. It consisted of a seating area at the entrance, a toilet, a separate bathroom with one bathtub and one massage/sauna shower, a wardrobe room,... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights and were impressed from start to finish; opulent foyer, beautiful modern yet classical rooms, friendly staff and the best breakfast buffet I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. It's also in a great location, a three minute walk from the start of the main pedestrianised area and right next to... More

The hotel was difficult to find because the people that I’d asked for directions had heard of it but didn’t know exactly where it was. I arrived by City Airport Train (CAT) and underground train (subway) then I took the wrong exit from the station. However, once inside the hotel, I was greeted by a friendly and extremely helpful receptionist.... More

Perfect location, perfect condition of room and nice free drinks for welcome to us. We are so happy to stay in Derag Livinghotel An der Oper. I just notice little things that the kitchen shelf is high, so it's not easy to take a pot, glass ,etc.and bathtub is narrow, so not fit to big person as I think,,, Anyway,... More

This is an old apartment building converted into a hotel, in a perfect location just beside the Opera. The rooms provide ample space for families, and while the common areas with the exception of the lobby, lack the glamour and glitz of a traditional hotel, it provided us with a perfect base to explore Vienna on foot. The apartment is... More

You essentially live in a centrally located (one minute from the Opera) apartment building with a beautifully appointed museum-style lobby and a reception. Apartments vary in size. Ours had a huge fully furnished living room, two bathrooms and a bedroom. In addition there was a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave oven and eating area stocked with plates, pots and pans, silverware and... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
