We stayed here for three nights during a city break in Vienna, and we had a really good time. We got a free upgrade, so our room was really spacious, with a small kitchen which included a big fridge, really nice during hot August days in Vienna. Our room was clean and had modern interior. We also used the laundry facilities on the lower levels, you can wash and tumble dry a whole machine for 7,50€ including detergent. The machines were very clean as well.
The location near Schwedenplatz is great, as you can easily explore Vienna by foot and public transport from here. There are many shops, restaurants and bars near the hotel.
As the staff was friendly and the price was good, we can recommend this hotel to everybody!

This is NOT a hotel but a mini apartment to a hotel spec.
It is not serviced daily but is very clean and modern. They supply washing up items and a ‘few’ tea bags and coffee, make sure you take your own if you drink a lot.
The room overlooked the centre courtyard so we could not open the windows, which was a problem for me as I would have liked some fresh air.
There is a tv with German channels, an en-suite shower room with hair drier, a kitchenette with hob, microwave, sink, fridge and dishwasher and a free safe.
The bed was very firm but comfy, it was two singles pushed together (against a wall) but that was ok!
The shower was a bit weak but very clean and warm.
Towels provided.
It is perfectly located right near the city centre and all the transport links, supermarkets and some good food hubs.
The only down side was that the room was extremely HOT, too hot for us, we were unable to turn on any air conditioning etc, if it wasn’t for this it would be a 5* review.

This was our first tourist visit to Vienna and and this Aparthotel suited us for budget, Time and location. One tip though, take a 2 minute walk down the road for breakfast because at €15 each in the hotel for a rather ordinary breakfast, a two minute walk will get you to a typical Viennese cafe for a proper coffee, Boiled egg, two gorgeous bread rolls in a relaxing environment, served by a waiter for 7 or 8 Euros. No contest.
That said, the Adagio was great, 5 minutes to the metro, trams outside the door and St Stephensplatz a 10 minute walk via top shopping and very attractive bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and I feel bad criticising the breakfast, especially as the lady tried to fry me an egg but it was not good, not good coffee nor old scrambled egg and the waffle machine was difficult. Oh how something so simple can colour your revue...
However, the room was very clean and the reception staff excellent and very helpful. Another really good point, the room was very quiet and on the roadside first floor, top marks.
Vienna is not a cheap city and with this in mind I have to say the Adagio was brilliant, and we enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend it.

We booked the hotel because of the good price and closeness to the city centre. We saw the positive reviews online and decided to make a reservation.

We reached out to the hotel in advance to request a room on a high floor and for a nice view. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t acknowledge our email, so we hoped that, that meant that they would accommodate our request. Sadly, they put us on the lowest floor and have us a view of absolutely nothing. That was a very, very disappointing start to our first ever visit to Vienna.

That said, we liked the room. It was probably the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in, but wanted to keep costs low, so half expected that. The room was very economical, you could push the bed up and transfer the area into a small sofa. The room came with a fully functioning kitchen. We wasn’t expecting that so that was nice. The room was more suited for a couple of youngsters backpacking through Europe or Student Accommodation as opposed to a hotel for middle aged couples.

The room was perfectly clean. I was a bit surprised to hear that the cleaner visits once a week. But to be honest, it kind of worked. It would have been nice if someone had emptied our bins, but I guess they probably would have if I had asked (but I didn’t want to put them out).

The shower was very powerful and good quality as was the bathroom in general. The air conditioning worked well, which was great during warmer climates. Small things like shower gel, washing up liquid and tablets were available for free. We didn’t try out the gym/steam room, having to reserve it in advance made it seem like hard work.

The hotel was nearby to many of the attractions, which was nice.

The tv channels were quite limited if you only speak English. There’s only two channels; CNN News and BBC World News. The WiFi was fine. It would have been nice if there was a smart tv functionality so that we could connect to Netflix etc, so that we could watch something other than the news.

The staff were helpful and friendly and I would have no reservations in recommending the hotel to a younger market who are not expecting high standards. If you’re looking for somewhere to get your head down for the night, then this place is perfectly suitable. If you’re looking to spend some time relaxing in your room, then perhaps one of the other hotels would be best suited to you.

Good afternoon, and thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed and helpful feedback due to your recent stay with us. First of all I want to mention, that I am happy to read that you liked the central location of our accommodation as well as the provided service by our staff. Hope that you had enough time, to visit all the corners of our beloved city. Regarding your comments about the cleaning service, I would kindly like to inform you, that there is no daily cleaning included during a stay with less than 8 nights, which is usual for an Aparthotel. Of course we are offering general cleaning- or smaller room services, due to a little additional charge for our guests. Otherwise there are always fresh towels, bed linens, garbage bags or other toiletries available at our reception, which is non stop available too. Also every floor at our Aparthotel is having a garbage room, where the garbage can be removed to from the guests. I sincerely apologize for the situation, that we did not react to your message in advance. In case you have specific room preferences (high/ low floor, bathtub/ shower, quite room/ city view), it is the best to contact the accommodation directly per phone call in order to clarify these preferences will be considered and arranged. But be sure that we are also responding to messages from our guests, even if it is just the mentioning for a room preference. Our Sauna- and Gym area are available 24/7. But due to the current Covid safety restrictions, our guests need to pre-reserve these areas at least 1 hour in advance, in order to make sure, that no one else is using these areas. However, we do hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back again at our property, in order to restore your confidence in us. Wishing you all the best in the meanwhile! Kind regards, Leila Sarkinovic - Assistant Manager

It is worth noting that this is an "aparthotel" - apartment-hotel, so there are none of the usual tea, coffee, milk supplies in the kitchenette. It is self catering accommodation. The kitchenette even had a dishwasher! Great for a longer stay. Thankfully there is a Billa grocery store just a 3 min walk away!
Our room (618) was facing the inner courtyard and was very quiet with no traffic noise even though the hotel is situated on a busy corner, but we had no view. The room was sanitized, clean and comfortable. Towels and toiletries were all supplied with more available at reception. The rooms are serviced once a week. There was free wifi in the room.
The self-service breakfast consisted of a range of cereals, yoghurt, breads, spreads, fruits, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, hashbrowns, juices, teas, coffees ..... more than enough selection and quantity for us!!
The location was great for easy access to a) public transport (tram, bus and subway), b) the old city (St Stephens Cathedral a 15min walk) and c) the Danube canal, not the river, for a stroll.
The staff were always very friendly and helpful especially with our touristy questions and requests!
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to people wanting to self cater.

This was not our first stay at the Adagio nor will it, hopefully, be our last. I mention that because some places where we have previously stayed have made some changes or "cutbacks" as a result of the pandemic; the Adagio has not. Our room included a refrigerator, small stove and coffee maker (hence the homelike feel) and the bathroom is superior to that of some "upscale" hotels where we have stayed. The location is, for us, ideal. It's on the "ring," with two tram stops just outside its front door, and it's an easy walk to several excellent restaurants and at least one major museum (The Mak). But one of the most appealing aspects of the Adagio is its staff. They are friendly and responsive and make one feel genuinely welcome. As just one illustration of this, the day before our arrival I emailed the hotel and asked if we might be able to stay in the same room we have stayed in on past visits; I was unable to recall the room number. We arrived the following evening and where were we lodged? "Our" previous room. Add to that an offer of a loaner umbrella on a cloudy day, helpful recommendations regarding transportation and sites and, well, that's the Adagio.

Stayed in Sept 2021 on floor 11. The room was very clean and comfortable and had a small kitchen area which had everything you could need to make a good meal. It also had brush and dustpan, hoover, iron board & iron plus hair drier so you had to ask for nothing. The decor was pleasant and the bathroom spotless and modern. We had a good view of the city, although beware some ceilings in the rooms on floor 11 (the top floor) do slope. The customer service we received at this hotel means I have to rave about it. Arrived very late and needed tea and night receptionist kindly got me teabags and milk from the kitchen. Had to cut our holiday short, due to a bereavement and Martina was brilliant. All staff friendly, happy and professional and the hotel is well run. It doesn't take long to walk to sights so location good. Couple of supermarkets handy to hotel also. Would highly recommend it and will stay there again when I next visit Vienna.

The hotel is located at the edge of the prime tourist district in the centre of Vienna. It is a short walk to the nearest Ubahn line, tram and bus lines are right out the door. This was my second stay, so yes, I would stay again. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful.
My only complaints are 1) the lighting in the rooms is poor. The bathroom is particularly dark, but also the kitchen lighting is too subdued. 2) the beds have sharp corners so if you walk too close you are going to bang your shin or stub your toe on the frame.

Great value for money. We got an apartment with a small kitchen and it had plenty of room for us. The location is very good - 10 mins walk from the city center, and there is a tram station right outside the hotel. 5 minutes from the hotel there are pubs and dining options near the river. The only issue was with the shower - the water pressure wasn't good, and the water temperature was unstable.

The first room I was given smelled terribly of food and the windows facing the courtyard could not be opened for safety reasons. After I complained, the lady at reception gave me another room. An upgrade to a larger room. Here, the three windows facing the street opened for ventilation, which of course also had an impact on the noise level at night. A better compromise. The room was furnished in a rather old-fashioned way, the double bed, which I liked because of its hard mattress, was in a corner and was only accessible from one side. In the middle of the room there was a large unused space, which also made the room seem cold. An interior designer should take a look here. The small kitchen in the entrance area was OK, but I only used the coffee capsule machine and the refrigerator. In the large bathroom there was a toilet specially designed for wheelchair users with foldable grab handles. So far so good. But then there is also a narrow bathtub, where a wheelchair user or frail person would never take a bath. The tub was also equipped with grab handles, but a shower would have been more appropriate here. Showering in the bathtub was torture for me too, especially since there was no glass wall or shower curtain. So you always had to hold the shower head in your hand and point it at the wall so as not to flood the floor. Catastrophic planning.
One good point should be mentioned though: the location. 3 minutes walk to Schwedenplatz and the tram is right outside the door.
