This is a very clean and comfortable modern hotel located directly opposite Vienna’s main railway station. If travelling by train this hotel is unbeatably convenient, but it was very quiet and no noise from the trains could be heard in the rooms. Good buffet breakfast. There is also a metro station with direct connections to the city centre in a few minutes. A sign would be helpful in the lift reminding guests to use their room key to activate a fob inside the lift, otherwise it won’t work. The one major downside was the slow check-in: one young member of staff coped admirably and as efficiently as possible with a long queue of impatient guests waiting to check-in, but the lack of other staff was frustrating - not what is needed after a long journey.
I stayed in the hotel for several days and was very satisfied. The stuff was friendly, the room was clean. I could store my luggage without any problems. I was also surprised that despite of proximity to the train station, it was quiet in the room. The location was also excellent, just in front of the main train station.
Me and my son had a great stay in Ibis - we had a quiet room in the 6th floor, the bathroom was large and the breakfast was plentiful. The waffles were my son's favorites :) The check-in and check-out was smooth and the service was friendly. There was quite a lot of people staying in the hotel, but the hotel seemed to manage it well.
Smile and service. Very clean rooms. Make your own waffles for breakfast and a delicious breakfast buffet. Vienna just outside the door. Belvedere just around the corner. Very quiet hotel despite just next to Hauptbahnhof and main road.
I stayed for a few nights in Vienna with a lot of luggage and wanted somewhere near the rail station. The Ibis is less than a minute's walk out of the station, if you walk past Burger King you're heading to the right exit. I suppose an Ibis by definition is a standard experience. I thought I'd leave a review as I found the staff very helpful and friendly. Also worth mentioning it has a 12pm checkout which was better for me that other places offering 11am. Would have been nice to have coffee in the room but I suppose that's not an Ibis thing. There was machine made coffee in the lobby. If it's not obvious the Ibis is the same building as the Novotel.
