A grand and ancient building in the very centres of the old town. The rooms are modern in style but there are many old features in the common parts to enjoy. The rooms are reasonably comfortable, we had the basic standard, but could do with a few enhancements such as mattress toppers. No coffee or tea in the room but there is free coffee and tea opposite reception. A Nespresso machine in the room would be a great improvement! The breakfast is great and served in a lovely old room. There is no air con which was not an issue in autumn but could be in summer. Second stay here so requested a back room which lacks the view of the mountains but is totally quiet if one leaves the window open! Lovely staff in all parts are to be complimented for making us feel at home!

To travellers from a country in which no building is older than 1790, to stay in a place built around 1465 is very special. The location is sensational, right in the old town, within walking distance of many attractions as well as everything you need, including the excellent hop-on hop-off bus. The room was a bit small but we negotiated that quite happily. The very thick walls made problems for the wi-fi, but there was a lounge with tea-making facilities and good wi-fi. The TV channels did include the odd English-language channel if were bored and wanted to get some news (but mostly US & European news; the only news from Australia was about sabotage of strawberries). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.

Dear Malcolm, Thank you so much for this review! We are very pleased, that you have spent your holiday in our old town hotel and that you have felt comfortable. In fact, our historical building is very, very old - it is from 1465 and has got a long and an exciting history. Not many people can claim to have slept in the same building like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!! You are also right with your statement about our position in the heart of Innsbruck. It makes the holiday really stress-free: everything in walking distance like sights, shopping, restaurants.... Our special service to the guests is coffee specialties and tea, at any time. We are lucky, you enjoyed it. We are very pleased, that you liked our extensive breakfast as well as our attentive employees. We look forward to your next visit in our hotel! Kind regards to Australia Angelina - Old town hotel Weisses Kreuz

The Location: In the old town, a short walk to Goldenes Dachl. Note that parking is situated in a parking garage a few hundred metres away.

The Room: Smallish-sized high-level room overlooking the Hofkirche. Only just enough space for international travelers to unpack. Minimalist, old world style. Furnishings were in reasonable repair.

The Staff: All staff we encountered were pleasant and courteous.

Food: Onsite breakfast area was pleasantly decorated in the old world style. Some tables had views to the old town. Breakfast buffet included a modest variety of: cereals, yogurt, cheeses, meats (unfortunately only pork products), breads/pastries, hard-boiled eggs.

Overall Impression: A pleasant, centrally-located hotel good for an overnight stay.
Thank mi6lo

Hello mi6lo, Thank you so much for taking the time to describe your impressions. Yes indeed, our position in the centre could not be better. Most of Innsbruck's sights are within easy walking distance, like the Golden Roof or the imperial palace... We feel, that you enjoyed your stay and we are very happy for this. You picture the atmosphere in our old town hotel - and you are absolutely right: it is from 1465 and has a long and exciting history. Not many people can claim to have slept in the same building like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!! We are very proud, you mention our engaged and attentive stuff. We all love to take care of our guests' well-being :-) We are grateful you were our guest, and hope to welcome you again. Angelina, Old town hotel Weisses Kreuz

We stayed here for just one night. It served the purpose for our meeting point to continue on to the Stubai Valley for some hiking. The rooms are small, and some rooms have very limited space and a lack of natural light and/or shared bathroom. We cannot complain as our room was nicely appointed with a full bathroom/bath & shower, two single beds, and a table nook area with alcove windows that opened up to the cobble street below. I loved keeping the windows open to enjoy the cool mountain air. At one point the street below got a little noisy (it was a Friday night), but closing the windows took care of that. (We re-opened them a few hours later.) The buffet breakfast is excellent.

Dear guest, Thank you so much for your feedback. We are grateful, you stayed with us. Indeed, we have got different rooms, in different categories with different prices. Actually, our simple rooms with shared shower/toilet are very popular, because of the low price. We are lucky, that you felt comfortable with your private bathroom and that we met your expectations. We hope you enjoyed the hiking in Stubaital and that we can welcome you again on your next visit to Tyrol. Sincerely, old town hotel Weisses Kreuz

If you want to live in the charming "altstadt" in the same stile as the town, this is it!
It´s like staying in a 17:th century hostel witch it actually is.
The hotel is in the middle of everything. Some people might consider it a drawback that you can´t drive and park directly at the hotel as it´s situated on a pedestrian street.

Hello Mats, Thank you so much for taking the time, to describe so many beautiful impressions! Actually, our historical building is from the year 1465, and has got a long and exciting history. Not many people can claim, to have slept in the same building like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. We support your oppinion on the position of our hotel. There's no better way to explore innsbruck, when you are staying close to most sights. And the parking garages are all only few minutes by walk. Thank you for beeing our guest, we hope to welcome you again soon. Your old town hotel Weisses Kreuz

Hello we do not have a kettle in the rooms due to fire security - allthough at the reception you will find complimentary tea and coffee - and there is a kettle. Looking forward to seeing you.

We just got back from a stay here and I don't think they had air condition. The room we stayed in had plenty of windows you can open to get some fresh cool air in if needed.
