It took quite a while for us to find the hostel as we were given wrong directions twice and Google maps places the hostel about 20 minute walk away. You can climb a mountain of steps to get there or just below the hostel is a lift (need to pay) to take you towards the mountain-top walk, it's only about...

Very good hostel, very cozy. In relation to what you pay at this hostel, we received the appropriate structure. A bit far from the city centre, but the access made by a huge lift makes it much easier because the hostel sits on top of a mountain, so that's not a problem. Located in a very quiet area of Salzburg,...

I am a solo female traveller who stayed at Stadtalm for one night last night. I've read the previous reviews and would agree with all of the facts that people have shared. It's really an individual choice about what you want in a hostel and what will phase you and what you can be flexible about. The overwhelming thing about...

I was in the large hostel room (around 8 beds i think). Initially hostel was a little tricky to find. I made my way to the top of the hill, but then wasn't really sure how to get there, but eventually found it. If you know exactly where it's at and no trouble finding it, it's still probably a 30...

Whatever can go wrong does. We've stayed in hostels as a family but this is the worst experience we've had! Mix up with the room, (we booked a room for 4, were travelling with kids, telephoned and emailed ahead and were always reassured we'd get a room for 4 only and would have it to ourselves), constant interruptions and confusion...

We're a family of 4. We can rough it with the best of them but when we book a four bed dorm that's what we expect. We emailed ahead twice, and phoned as well, to confirm our booking, and were assured it was all okay. But when we arrived we were shown to a six bed dorm with a room-mate...

We booked 2 beds in a dorm just for the sake of enjoying the location and the view from the terrace, however, the hostel was a very pleasant surprise overall. Clean, newly renovated rooms, comfy beds, tasty food & beer at the restaurant. The breakfast was much more than expected too: cheese, ham, fresh bread, jam and very good coffee....

First choice was full up so .. Starting with the negatives Sat Nav blew a fuse trying to find it - I ended up ignoring every "no vehicles allowed" signs - only a motorbike could thread between the bollards - up 2 kilometres of winding path - passing a family of 5 dragging their suitcases on foot uphill. Finally end...

We stayed for 2 nights in the double room. The location on top of the hill gives stunning views, even from the sleeping room. The decoration has some character and the breakfast which we could get outside on the terrace with view was good. The place has a lot of potential and seems likeable, including the fact that you can...

Stayed for 2 nights. A very adventurous location. Book whatever you like but will likely not get what you booked. Be prepared to do a little bit of hiking, you will not be a happy camper if you have a lot of luggage. But once you're there the location will not disappoint. Rooms are mainly shared with bunk beds. So...
