We have stayed here twice before. The last time was about 4 years ago. The position is at the entry to the town, but totally ski in ski out, - having a ground floor room I could literally ski into our room. My wife and I stayed in an Eagles nest room. A double room, living area with sofa bed, kitchen, tv etc. A shower only bathroom( no bath being the only downside for me). Also absepperate toilet. Great ski room with boot heaters which work well. Breakfast was one of the best we have experienced in over 40 years of skiing. It is note 15€ per person per day. The hotel has a superb pool, with a brilliant water slide. A top notch bowing alley has also been added.Restaurant Herzenlust is very good, owned by the same family, but the Almsrusch opposite is an OK bar, but the food poor. I do not think the family can now own this place as the standards are so poor. Make no mistake the hotel is excellent and totally recommended. A taxi for 8 to town, is 12 euros. It is walkable but leave 20 mins to do this.

We stayed at the Gloecknerin in April and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The kids loved the hotel, particularly the playroom, pool and bowling lanes. The timed water slide competition was particularly special. For the parents the convenience of the hotel, restaurant, ski hire, ski storage, car garage and large rooms was hard to beat. We were all impressed with the service and general build quality of the hotel including the sister hotels adjacent that we ate at. We chose to get bread delivered and breakfast in the room to ease the morning rush. The only possible negative could be it’s distance from the town centre but it is ski in ski out and if you are on a family holiday we certainly never noticed it. Well done to the hotel staff and family team. Many happy memories and we will be back! Family of 5 with kids aged 10 and under.

Hotel Gloecknerin is a lovely Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The slopes are right next to the apartment so you can start skiing/snowboarding as soon as you come out the building. We stayed in one of the apartments which was quite spacious, well equipped and clean, however the walls seemed to be very thin and did not filter any of the noises coming from the neighbours which was quite disturbing sometimes. In spite of this, it was nice holiday overall.

The hotel is run by a family and is definitely a great place for families . The pool is fantastic and the kids can wonder around freely in the hotel between the playroom, the pool, the lobby and the bowling room. Rooms are very spacious and can easily accommodate a large family. Breakfast is very good but a little bit pricy and for lunch and dinner you go through a tunnel to the restaurant next door. Staff is very attentive and helpful. As for skiing, there is a ski rental shop attached to the hotel building including ski school rep. There is a t-bar slope right next to the hotel (10 meters) where you can take a lift to the rest of the Obertauern site.

A lovely family friendly hotel with sweet and very helpful staffs. The room was not quite as large as pictured on the website, but it was clean and functional. The slopes are just outside, which was very convenient for us traveling with kids.
