The position is ideal from which to explore the mountainous Troodos region. The New Helvetia is a comfortable family-run hotel. We were extremely well looked after and enjoyed occupying our accommodation with its two floors. The hotel is sited above a steep sided, forested valley, the views of which can be enjoyed while taking a hearty breakfast on the hotel... More

Nice and romantic atmosphere, Excellent Cyprus Breakfast with a quality coffee, selection of local herbal teas , home made marmelades, fresh fruits , etc. Also, with a variaty of local breads. Compfortable rooms and very clean , very good service . And the most important the owners are always around to make you feel part of the family. If you... More

This is a hotel with a high potential:good location, nice atmosphere, great history. However, the staff are quite unprofessional. The room are small especially the bathroom.i was not impress by the cleaness.the hotel need a total refurbishment.Definetely does not worth the 75 euro per night - probably 50 euro would have been fine.

If you are looking for a modern, soulless hotel, with all the mod cons then don't come here! If you would like to stay in a hotel with a lot of history, very friendly and welcoming staff, and somewhere with character and lovely views, this is the place for you.

Though the hotel is old, it has its authenticity and charm with beautifully arranged living room that makes one feel like home with soft couches, large chess board and a fireplace. It was a bit cold in the room as my stay fell in February, however, I cannot complain about the staff. The dinner was always very delicious and abundant,... More

I genuinely very rarely write reviews but I could not resist. People need to be warned about this place and the Cypriot Tourist Organization needs to do something about this """hotel""". We have already reported this hotel to the Cypriot Tourist Authorities. Very dirty, under-staffed, badly run, staff could not be more rude and make you feel like you are... More

The ambiance, the room and the service were simply great. If you are looking for a simple and beautiful stay in the mountains, don't hesitate ! We had some problem with our car and the manager helped us without any hesitation. Our only regret was to stay for only one night. We will come back for sure.

We stayed at the New Helvetia for 2 nights. The location was excellent as it was within walking distance of Platres and the Kaladonian Falls. George and his Mother were extreme welcoming and helpful. George was a great host and each evening at the bar before and after dinner was great fun. We will be back again, probably in the... More

The hotel is vintage and well preserved. Quiet while located in Platres and the road that leads to Troodos. It's nothing fancy and relatively clean. It is value for money. With a bit of an effort from the family that owns it, with attention to detail it can become EXCELLENT!
