I've noticed that the owners are always there and it sort of feels homely.
Also, for those into skiing, Platres offers proximity to the ski slopes while relaxing in a wonderful village with several tavernas.
Noted is an old style charming hotel which is good for weekend breaks.
Room was nice with the 2nd room on mezzanine floor kind of loft which give some privacy, Nice decors in the the lof room and we had a balcony in the room.
Breakfast was ok. Hotel is in central location.
It does the job and with right price will come back.
Wine bucket impressive and starters all good. We were six and among other dishes, we ordered two Mushroom Risoto. Both dishes tasteless- completely unacceptable; not really a Risotto. We completed our meal and the two persons did not have a second bite - had to settle with the starters. We asked politely the waiter to inform the Chef about it. Ten minutes later when nobody turned up with any kind of reply or comment, we asked the waiter if he had informed the Chef and his answer was positive but explained simply that this is how they make it!. Nobody bothered to check it, talk to us, offer any alternative or make any form of a gesture on the bill (not that it would make any difference but it would show they care somehow about their guests). We paid 15.00 EUR for each dish and 142.00 EUR in total and left extremely unhappy. Shame because the place is nice but got the impression they know little about service standards and customer satisfaction. Sorry to say we will not go back with this level of service.
It is just gorgeous!
I guarantee it hasn't really changed much since it was built but that is part of it charm.
I would have happily stayed an entire week there!
The town of Platres is also beautiful with lovely little cafes and restaurants.
A simple breakfast was on offer, of bread, meats and cheese but it was enough.
No lift for to carry your bags up but the staff were extremely warm and helpful and they are getting an exterior lift fitted post covid!
I recommend you to at least visit this place for a drink. It's like a step back in time or like being part of a Stanley Kubrick movie!
