We stayed at this hotel for one night . There are two kind of rooms: classical and superior. Classical rooms have not been renovated and superior rooms have been renovated and have a bigger balcony. The hotel itself is located in the middle of a forest. To reach the pool from the hotel rooms or reception you need to use stairs. Therefore this hotel may not be convenient for persons with limited physical conditions. The hotel was built in 1936 and tries to keep its original decoration and look. Therefore it may seem a bit outdated for some people but this is intentional. The room 702 we had was very quite and I couldn’t hear any mechanical noise states in previous reviews. The view from the balcony was nice. The bathroom was simple but clean. The wifi worked fine but was not the fastest. The mattress firm and comfortable. The dinner buffet for 20€ was not bad but only the salad was homemade. The evening atmosphere on the garden is really nice and cozy. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. I wish the coffee quality was better (coffe machine was a German brand). All in all this hotel is a great calm gateway for people who are tired of busy and hot beaches of Cyprus and want cool temperatures which could be easily 10 centigrades lower than on the beach.

In the first day we found out that the shower is broken and that the water pressure in the shower is terrible.
We contacted the reception this morning , the shower head was fixed but the water pressure is still very low ..
We contacted the reception once again this afternoon and were offered to move to the next door room where the water pressure appeared to be the same - very low and the shower head was also broken!!
This is unacceptable.
The shower facilities are not functioning properly, this is basic thing and need to be corrected.

The hotel is located in a very beautiful place! The room was quite good, but we would have liked it to be cleaner.... When we entered the room we went outside for a cigarette on the balcony and in the ashtray there was already a cigarette probably from the cleaning lady.... The bathroom inside had something like dirt! Yes, it is an old building, but they can keep it cleaner... The breakfast was rich and very tasty!!! The waiters there are very helpful as is the girl at the reception!! If they renovate it properly, it will become a very beautiful hotel because it is in a great place!!!

The hotel is in a nice area in the mountains but it is well past its prime. Parts of the hotel are literally crumbling and the interior is very old and dated. Our room was very dated and the bathroom even more so with a shower that gave out a trickle of water. It seems very little has been spent on maintenance and the hotel is well overdue a major revamp. The breakfast was ok but all the food was cold, including the items that should have been hot like bacon and fried eggs etc. it seems things were just left out and allowed to get cold. We were there in May and the outdoor pool was empty. I was told it only opens later in the year, every other hotel in Cyprus has had their pools open for a while and it is already hot. All in all it seems like a hotel struggling to keep things going.

On the positive side our room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The price was cheap.

I would not stay again despite the positives.

Young couple next to us when we were checking in complained of no towels in their room. Arrive to our room to find the door wide open and didn't find any towels in our room either on 5th floor. friends with us in room next door had same issue with no towels. Both of us separately called zero for reception to be told someone would be up shortly. 50 minutes later still waiting for towels to arrive in order to have a shower and freshen up. Very poor and sloppy service. In the end went down to reception to demand towels for the same guy in reception to be suprised we had asked for towels. Given bath towels and an hour later still waiting for hand towels to arrive!

Poor service, stuck in the 70s

We spent 3 days at the hotel on a family holiday and were disappointed multiple times. We booked 7 rooms next to each other so we can enjoy being together as a family. When we showed up only 2 of the rooms were adjacent, the other rooms were located on different floors. My own family (2 adults, 4 young kids) booked interconnecting rooms, and we were offered two separate rooms instead of interconnecting. Obviously not an option for us - We had to make of an issue of it so that the manager on duty would arrange it. The manager was condescending and patronising. Rubbing our booking confirmation in his face did not help either, he just kept making excuses instead of apologising.

During the dinner, the older members of the restaurant staff told off our 2 year old for running around the restaurant. And then told off our 12 year old for watching YouTube on his mobile after dinner. Supposedly this was disrespectful to other guests of the hotel (there were only 2 other tables seated there), in the other end of the room. The staff did not have even have the good sense to speak to the parents - but rather addressed the children directly. Which might have been ok in the 1970s in rural Cyprus but it’s is creepy and totally off limits today.

The general mood of the hotel also matched this backwards attitude. The place is gloomy, dull and in need of some serious restoration. Plastic flowers and dusty carpets don’t help. The hotel owners are proud of their old heritage. But that is all they can be proud of. We won’t be coming back again.

I have never felt more unwelcome in a hotel.
Our Christmas Holiday was a disaster mainly due to the rude, impolite and untrained staff of the hotel. From the time we arrived until check out we were disappointed with every interaction with the members of the staff. The Greek duty Manager was the worst.

This is definitely not a family friendly hotel.

The hotel is stuck in the previous century regarding staff attitudes and run down facilities. Rooms are old, smelly with dirty, with mouldy and old carpets (even though we were in the so called “renovated superior rooms”). Such a disaster.

This hotel should be shut down in order to renovate the building and hire and train new staff.

If you are a fan of quirky and unique places, as it stands, Forest Park Hotel fits into this category. Yes, it is 'stuck in the past' but that's part of its charm. From what we have heard from locals, the hotel has been bought by a big company and they will be renovating it. This is no surprise, since its location is ideal. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and we had instant hot water. Yes the bathtub could be newer, but the 'damage' is clearly due to overuse and time, and not dirt and grime. The rooms had everything a hotel room can offer and even had complimentary water, coffee and tea. Black out curtains were great too and opening the blinds in the morning to see the tops of pine trees was a serene sight for our sore city eyes. In a world that is constantly and quickly changing, going back to a simpler idea of luxury was quite frankly refreshing. Having said that, the hotel does offer Wifi and a hearty breakfast buffet. For the price of the bed and breakfast, I'd say it was worth it. We were there to get away from the city and tackle some hiking trails, so if you're looking to do this, explore the region, get in touch with nature, and all you want is a hot shower (or bath) and a comfortable place to sleep, you'll definitely find it here!

The room and especially the bathroom were dirty. The bathtub was full of different stains, the faucet etc. let's not talk about it (limestone stains and really disgusting)
The indoor pool was cold, dirty, the windows looked like they had never been washed, the sauna closed and the outside seemed abandoned.
The breakfast was not worth it either, breakfast for a 4* hotel. The hot dishes were cold and we were there when the buffet opened.
In the evening, the employees were nice, but the hotel was empty and despite that the tables were dirty. But after talking to the waiter about it, he directly washed the table.
This hotel is definitely not worth its 4 stars.
We left after one night (we booked for 2 nights), telling reception the evening before, he looked at us and simply responded to all complaints: "if you want to go earlier, so go". So the hotel doesn't care about your complaints.
The whole hotel looks like an abandoned hotel like in horror films.

Hotel platreste is a beautiful hotel located in the forest. The breakfast is excellent, it is clean, the rooms are warm and clean. The good staff at the hotel are helpful. The hotel has a perfect location, 5 minutes away from the waterfall and 10 minutes away from the troodos. It is a historical hotel.

Hi. We stayed in July and the jacuzzi and sauna were not available and the indoor pool was not heated and hasn't been for two years, summer or winter. Also, the food is disgusting. The hotel used to be excellent, not now. We have stayed here many times but probably not again. Contact the hotel direct and ask these questions, then you have it from them in writing. People we know have stayed recently and there is no central heating in the rooms!!! Let us know how you get on.

The Forest Park hotel retains its charm. It has a unique atmosphere, as it is a family owned and run hotel. It may not have the luxuries of a modern 4 star hotel, but the rooms are spacious and bathrooms have all modern amenities. A better collection of bath gels and shampoos though is needed. Definitely ask for a room in the new wing. Fifth floor to seventh. Balconies have a great view, pine trees etc. The common areas are very pleasant and comfortable. The great asset is the verandah surrounded by pine trees and many bushes in bloom this time of the year. Setting of the hotel is great, and the resort of Platres is very special with the beautiful architecture of the 30s and 40s. WE often stay there. Mary Gabrielides, Lefkosia, Cyprus
