Welcome to Semiramis Hotel, Cyprus. The hotel is owned and managed by Agis Iacovides and family. We are situated in the village of Platres in the Troodos mountains and within easy reach of the islands two main airports (Larnaca & Paphos). The original hotel was built in the early 1900’s and whilst it retains all it’s classic 1920’s style, it now features – following its very recent refurbishment - a refined interior design that blends with traditional hospitality to provide an ambiance that is guaranteed to delight the senses.

This little cozy hotel of only 10 rooms is in a quiet corner of Platres, away from the crowds and has been recently renovated. The rooms are simply furnished but with super comfortable beds, impeccably clean and offers tranquility and relaxation. An important advantage is the restaurant which offers an excellent choice for both lunch or dinner. Summer evenings spent on Semiramis veranda under the pines is pure bliss, while winter evenings in front of the fireplace sharing a bottle of wine with friends is absolute joy! And all the way, the courteous hosts make you feel so much welcome!

After several positive recommendations, specifically for the food, finally we spent a weekend with a good bunch of friends. Our initial plan was to go for a tour on Sunday and have lunch elsewhere. The extremely attending Manager and later in the day the Owners made the atmosphere so welcoming and friendly that for two days we only left the hotel to stretch a bit. Very clean rooms having all the amenities with very comfortable beds! Food menus, food variety and tastes..............worth having a go at!

Had the best time at this little hotel that is made out of a fairytale! Quiet place in nature, easy to access, with a great cozy lounge room/restaurant and the friendliest stuff! Mr.Paris and the others are always so helpful and so funny! The breakfast is prepared on arrival so everything was so tasty and freshly cooked! The rooms are very clean and cozy ! There is also a veranda in nature, so picturesque! Will visit again for sure! Thank you for our great time there!

An incredibly rude manager, lacking basic competence. We were passing through the village and found a room in this hotel on booking.com. Since we were 2min drive from it it seemed natural to book directly in the hotel. Right at the door we were asked if we were Cypriot as it is 50% discount for them, which we are obviously not. Lol this was a fantastic start, only to be thereafter asked a 30% higher rate than the one on booking.com! After showing the manager the price on the said website, she scrolled through it together with me, not being sure how that stuff works, and getting increasingly hostile. We were told we could book through booking.com if we wanted to in an extraordinarily hostile tone. By this point I'd become rather puzzled by the reason for the non smiling manager's animosity towards the two of us and the absurd of booking through a website on my phone standing at the reception, which seemed like a logical but at the same time a crazy thing to do, and started wondering what would be the point of staying there being so unwelcome. The now raging manager then went on to make an "offer" which was still higher than the booking.com price (?), finishing her sentence with "this is it, end of story". Needless to say, the "end of story" bit was indeed the end of the story for our part. Not only have we been refused the hospitality but the moody young lady also felt entitled to lecture us (!) being told "we don't know because we don't work in the industry" - whatever there is to know. Absolute shame for such a pretty place that the village is, where unfortunately the accommodation options are limited so I imagine people's only option is a place like this, in desperate need of renovation, with rooms being directly connected to the main reception hall where you can hear people talk, cough etc and a manager not wanting guests (there is no other explanation), but you don't have to believe me on this one, you can check for yourself just don't book without inspecting the place first.

We were hoping to stay two or three nights at the hotel Semiramis but thank goodness they could only accommodate us for the one night. The hotel is cold, the central heating only worked for an hour and the room had an electric heater (but the bathroom didn’t). The restaurant was closed (but they did not warn us of this when we booked) and after we returned from dinner in the village (at 8pm) we found ourselves locked out as they don’t give guests a front door key. The internet connection was poor which might not be their fault but the wireless coverage in the hotel itself seems very flakey, something which is easy to put right. Breakfast was poor, very weak coffee some nasty bread used for toast and the cheapest cereal and orange squash rather than juice. It is the worst hotel I have stayed in for a long time.

The hotel building is more than 100 years old but the condition until today is very nice. The location is beautiful at Pano Platres village and the garden area is magical under the pine trees. The place is very silent to relax and enjoy your time with your family and the restaurant with the new Chef is top quality and you have the opportunity to enjoy your meals there any time of the day. My congratulations to the new management of the hotel but the most of the congratulations belong to the Chef Mr. Paris that brought us wonderful dishes with fresh ingredients and unique tasty ideas on our table! Keep doing this great job Mr. Paris.

The hotel is a very classy building from around 1900 and the renovation has been very tastfully done. Our room was modestly but comfortably furnished. There was attention to detail; for example, two bottles of mineral water were provided every day. Above all the staff was very helpful. Furthermore the breakfast (included in the price) and the dinners were very tasty. In short, the better family hotel.

I found this place by change. The setting is stunning - hidden under trees in the Platres mountains. We stopped by for some wine and food and were treated to live traditional Cypriot music on the outside terrace. The owners were there (lovely people) and were serving and attending to guests so the whole experience had a very family / friendly feel to it. Great vibes. Everything was excellent and I highly recommend you don't miss this place if you are ever in the Platres mountains.

No worth the money for this tiny dirty hole. Discusting rooms very dirty and owner doesnt care. Just only care about money. The owner is from limassol and the place is on auto pilot cause he is in limassol and the hotel is off bookings. The way that they treat as was not profesional. They dont care about their customers.

My new wife and I did a tour of Cyprus and stayed at the Semiramis for one night. We found the property to be very clean and well located, with the towering pine trees adding a mystical feel to the place. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast we enjoyed there was exceptionally good.
