The Paphiessa Hotel stands out for its family-friendly location near bustling bars, restaurants, and the harbor, which garners appreciation from many guests. While the pools are a highlight, opinions on the amenities are divided due to inconsistent Wi-Fi and cleaning services. Rooms evoke mixed responses, with some finding them cozy, yet others suggest they need updating. The inviting atmosphere is often praised, though some have had underwhelming bar experiences. Cleanliness receives varied reviews, with particular concern over maintenance. Staff members, known for their helpful nature, enhance the overall welcoming environment. However, guests are torn on the hotel's value proposition.

The staff were the sweetest I have ever met in any other hotel. The owner was such a sweetheart and would go out of his way to make sure his customers are happy. The hotel itself could do with an upgrade but still very good for the price we paid.

The location is amazing as it is only a 5-10 minute walk from the harbour and under 5 minutes to the closest restaurant.

Checkout is 12 noon however our transfer was 7pm and the hotel had no problem with us checking out at 7pm.

We have just spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel. It is only a 15 minute walk to the main Paphos waterfront and has plenty of parking. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome even though it was 2am. The rooms were clean and tidy, with a balcony overlooking the pool area. We had booked B & B only but the hotel caters for all, from self catered apartments to all inclusive. The breakfast had a good choice of fruit, cheese, cold meats , cereals and a cooked English breakfast and plenty of fruit juice, water, tea/ coffee. The Gentleman that served us each morning was always very welcoming and friendly. The hotel had a cosy bar, with seating both poolside and inside, the bar manager was very friendly and had a great rapport with his clientele. The prices were very reasonable. The hotel offered use of a pool table, chess and games sets and a very comfortable lounge area to relax in. There are tennis courts to use and the pool area has both a 20 metre pool and a smaller pool for children, these were both cleaned and serviced daily as were all the areas of the hotel both inside and out. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I am a great believer that you get what you pay for. If you don’t expect too much then you won’t be disappointed. Paphiessa is at the budget end of the market so expectations shouldn’t be too high.
The public areas are all clean tidy and as expected for a 3 star hotel. The pool area is enormous and there are more than plenty sun beds, chairs and even swing chairs.
The bar area and restaurant are spacious and welcoming.
The room was clean, the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. Air conditioning in the room was excellent.
Staff would bend over backwards to help, really couldn’t be faulted.
My room could do with a bathroom update, a bit of limescale but, again, as expected for the price.
Location is excellent, walking distance to the harbour and all local amenities.
To sum up, a bit tired, but value for money is okay excellent m.
Special mention for Jamie in the bar, and Nicos, the owner, always available for philosophical debate in the bar.
I would be happy to book again, I really enjoyed my stay.

We booked this hotel last minute as we had a wedding to go to in Paphos, Cyprus.
It was very affordable but unfortunately you get what you pay for.
Pros:
Friendly British owner
Air conditioning in rooms as standard
20 minute walk to the beach
Has a swimming pool (although we didn't end up using it)
Most rooms have a balcony
Cheap
Cons:
Desperately needs updating, especially the bathrooms. Minimal towels provided and no bath mat. Almost slipped multiple times on the tiled floor as the water has nowhere to drain to. Shower switches between hot and cold with no warning. Clean but needs a lot of work doing - tons of limescale build up etc.. Our double room had 2 single beds pushed together - not at all practical for a couple and not enough pillows provided. Our room did not have a main ceiling light which made it dark unless the curtains were open - not good for when you are getting ready. Breakfast was not good. The 2 days out of the 4 that we had breakfast at the hotel they got our both ours orders wrong each time, and the food they served us was ice cold. Didn't have many food options and it was very basic. However the homemade butter, cherry jam and yogurt were very nice. Didn't have a coffee machine.
Overall its OK if you are going to be spending minimal time in the hotel (we were only there to sleep and shower, and spent most of our time at the beach, the many great restaurants and our friend's more luxurious hotel).

I booked this hotel as it was super cheap and had all the amenities I was after (balcony, pool, walking distance to harbour) but was bracing myself for disappointment after reading some of the reviews online. Safe to say it exceeded my expectations and we (one adult, one child and an infant) had a wonderful week stay. Cleaned to a good standard with daily housekeeping who were exceptionally friendly. Our room was bright, pleasant and bedding/towels/bathroom/balcony all very clean. Bed was lovely and comfortable, room was quiet. There was a fridge in our room too and staff gave us a kettle (they usually charge €15 for a kettle but didn’t for us). Reception, bar and restaurant staff all polite, helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The hotel decor is a little dated but if anything this gave me a “well loved” and nostalgic feeling. Plenty of places to chill around the hotel, lots of seating available inside and out. Swimming pool kept very clean, was big and the deep end was 2.6m. Facilities were great. My daughter and I enjoyed a game of pool, and I had a well needed €2 massage in the massage chair. There’s lots of information leaflets available for local tours etc. Food was basic but good enough for us (we are vegetarian and still had options for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Bar snacks (inc. ice cream) and late night takeaway pizzas were a bonus! There’s a shop approx. 200 yards from hotel door (which also operates a taxi service) and plenty of places to eat nearby if the food is not to your taste. Ten min walk to harbour was very easy with lots of regular buses available between areas.
We had a lovely holiday and felt very comfortable at Paphiessa. We paid €35 for a late check out so absolutely no stress waiting for our evening flight home. Would recommend and would come again! (If you do choose to stay here I’d recommend heading left down the main road to the local animal shelter to visit the dogs/cats/donkeys/horses and donate to a wonderful cause - one of the many highlights of our trip).

We We’re meant to stay here for a week beginning of September 2020. With all the stress of getting a covid test beforehand we couldn’t wait to get there and relax! We arrived late about 11pm! Front reception area looked pleasant, the owner was welcoming and made us a fresh homemade pizza on arrival! there were 6 of us 3 adults, 3 children, we had two tiny rooms next to each other, only one two plug sockets in the whole room. One behind the wardrobe and one that the fridge was plugged into. There were lamps next to the bed but they didn’t plug into to anything. But we went to sleep hoping that everything would look better in the daylight! The next morning we walked past the pool to go for breakfast (we were all inclusive) no one else in sight, the pool was very green and murky! We went into the bar, we was told the breakfast was bacon egg and beans. We were made to feel uncomfortable to ask for a drink, I had tea with curdled milk! We was given some toast that resembled stale bread. No dining area set up just sat at a table in the bar area. We were not happy at all! My husband and I did not feel comfortable putting our three children in the dirty pool so we left and changed hotels! Such a shame! I know coronavirus has hit Cyprus hard but we only wanted a nice pool and cleanliness!

We stayed late September 2 apartments 1 x week.
Check in easy efficient and lovely friendly lady on reception who printed of Safe pass and gave us information we needed.
Apartments you couldn’t fault the cleanliness the cleaners can only work with what they have got (you can’t polish a you know what) so thank you cleaners for doing your best 🙏but oh dear are they in need of a update the wall unit was hanging of the wall didn’t want to touch it in case it did fall 🙈the shower over the bath leaked all over the floor bit of a hazard getting out…no bowls if you wanted a bit of cereal.. no kettle have to pay for it… shelf in bathroom hanging off.. couldn’t open the patio door unless you are iron man.. lots of little things that will now lead to a huge maintenance job as the other apartment was just the same and I can imagine this is the case in the whole hotel… on the plus side we did sleep well which is the main thing the rest of it we just took it for what it was and enjoyed the holiday yes you do get what you pay for but I think they need to get a few things sorted.
Can’t comment on the pool or restaurant as we didn’t use them pool was never busy lots of tired looking sun loungers available.
The hotel served its purpose but we wouldn’t go back we had a lovely week in the sun and feel lucky to have had it.

On arrival we immediately noticed how quiet the lobby and bar areas were, both empty. At fist glance the lobby looks very grand and regal with all its antique furniture but on closer inspection the furniture is worn, dirty, saggy and probably original. We had one drink in the empty bar, didn’t go back for another.
The room was small, not dirty but scruffy just big enough for the beds which were rock hard. Wardrobe doors were wonky and wouldn’t stay shut. The curtains across the balcony window were torn and tatty. The bath was awful, half of the ceramic had worn off and half of it was covered in paint. I can only assume the wall had been painted at some point and the paint can had tipped over. If you wanted to have a bath, which you wouldn’t, you couldn’t as there was no plug.
Air con was noisy but at least it worked unlike the bedside lamp.
Because the place was almost empty it meant there was never a problem getting a sunbed but finding one that wasn't broken was a challenge. The cushions on the sunbeds were the fabric type which were stained and needed a good clean or preferably replacing with new. The parasols were torn and scruffy. The pool was clean and nice enough.
The restaurant was large, clean, well presented and the staff were polite and friendly. However, the food let it down. English breakfast came with three small tinned sausages which if put end to end would just about be the size of a proper sausage, but you did get two eggs. One morning the bacon tasted sour and they had run out of beans so mixed in kidney beans. Yuck! We tried the restaurant for an evening meal it was empty so had the pick of tables but that should have been a warning sign. My wife opted for spag bol and said it was very nice. I had chicken kebab in pitta which looked like one of the cheap frozen ones from the supermarket and didn’t have anything in it that resembled chicken. Whish I had gone with the spag bol too. We asked for the desert menu, there wasn’t one but the very kind waitress fetched us each a slice of fruit cake which was lovely. We didn’t go back for a 2nd meal opting instead to walk the 20 minutes to the harbour.
All in all very disappointed, after reading good reviews on here we expected so much more. Paphiessa was probably very grand and bustling back in the day, there are a few tell tale signs of better days such as the extra bar in the beer garden, which is certainly not needed these days. A daily events poster on the walls with the days now left blank. Unfortunately Paphiessa looks like it has not had any investment in the building, furniture or decoration since it was built and it is such a shame.

Myself, husband and brother stayed here for 4 nights 6th - 10th March. Check in was easy and straightforward and no issues with is checking in after 7.45pm. Although I was drunk and loud on the first night the guy on the bar was very professional and polite, I did apologise the following day. The rooms had shower gel and shampoo & towels. The beds were very comfortable and although the rooms in general are a bit dated they were clean. The cleaners came round every morning and knocked in to ask if we wanted the room cleaning. Breakfast was the basic help your self continental and cooked breakfast on order. The pool and outside area was really nice, a bit too cold for me but there were still people in there. There was a cute little cat wondering around, very friendly and loved a fuss. I would definitely book to stay here again as it is close enough to the centre and other attractions nearby such as the mall and the archaeological sites but not too close so when it’s in full season you are not right on top of the noise.
There is a bar and restaurant onsite and during the season times there is entertainment too. Hotel os a little dated but the staff & amenities make up for that.

We arrived at 2am, tired and wanting our bed.
Checked in, got to room, immediate reaction was “no what have we done” !!!!!
Sticky tiles falling off the walls, ceiling panels been put in very badly- some were straight others were lying at a bad angle, air conditioning sounded like it had nuts and bolts rattling around in it, ceilings had been badly repaired from leaking water above, in several places. Light fitting above the mirror was showing a bare wire, whole room needed a good scrub with bleach and detol!!!! All furniture was old and outdated, doors on wardrobe looked like they would break if you pulled them too hard! Sockets on “headboard” had been put in at angles, nothing straight
Into the so called bathroom, filthy bath, taps, plug holes. Toilet had something dark spilled on it and wouldn’t scrub off, toilet brush had been there since Adam was a boy! Shower curtain was like tissue paper.
Tiles on the floor had also been there for a long time, I would not take my shoes off in this room. Tiles were very very many years old and never seen cleaner or bleach!
We stayed in that place for around 5 hours, looked for something else and got out quick. I have never seen a 3 star hotel so bad in all my life - don’t go.
On the beach who we booked this place through, need to take responsibility for this disgusting place.
