I recently stayed in this hotel with my elderly parents. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible at all. Firstly none of the hotel rooms have rails for poor mobility. The lifts are extremely poor and often did not work. As my mother is in a wheelchair I had to wait 20 minutes to get from our room to breakfast. There...

We started our 2 weeks holiday at the Coastline Hotel but had to move to the Fortina Hotel for the last 3 nights as the Coastline was closing for refurbishment. Although we stayed only 3 nights we were amazed at the friendliness of the staff and how immaculate the the hotel was and wished we had been sent there earlier.We...

The Fortina has the most spectacular view imaginable, looking across the bay to the historic city of Valetta, and the hotel itself has the potential to be excellent. Unfortunately it does not achieve this because of a lack of imagination in its overall decor and ambience, and a failure to really maximise the standard of it's basically good facilities. We...

Have just returned from 2 weeks in the Fortina. We had a very good time the hotel was excellent. There were 3 of us and we were given a room with 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and a lounge area in between all with a view of the sea and Valletta which was ideal and way above our expectations. The food...

There are a lot of mixed reviews about The Fortina hotel but I would have to say that we really do enjoyed our stay. Our room was a Superior family room on the 4th floor overlooking Valetta. The room was big enough for 4 of us, although we only ever got 3 towels - not a problem as there was...

Arrived after 10pm two staff on duty not a smile or pleasant greeting from either. It was a matter of going through the rote - fill this is sign here, the only hotel information given was directions to the lift and the dining room. I checked to ensure we had a room with a sea view and balcony as booked,...

We booked this hotel on the recommendation of a friend so I was inclined to disregard previous reviews. I think they are quite accurate. The best feature of this hotel is it's location and views of Valletta. As with many other reviewers we were given a standard room instead of the superior room we had booked. We were told that...

Chaotic reception on arrival, room was rather tired and in need of a refurbishment. Poor service throughout our stay apart one harassed and overworked receptionist. As with other reviews, didn't get the room promised, standard as opposed to deluxe. Disappointment offset by awesome view of Valetta. Facilities around the pool area overlooking Valetta very poor and not what you would...

This Hotel has an excellent situation in Sliema with wonderful views from the front rooms over the Harbour over to Valletta. However that is all it has going for it!! I have never in well over 40 foreign holidays stayed in such a poor hotel which does not even justify 2 stars never mind the 4 that it has. I...

Having studied other reviews, I see I am not alone in my thoughts about the Fortina 4 star. We have stayed there for the last ten years, approximately fifteen times. We book this hotel mainly because of it's location and the stunning views we can have of the harbour and Valetta. My main complaint is the fact that over all...
