Great hotel with an amazing view, for a cheap price this hotel was brilliant, friendly staff, eye pleasing decor and nice food for the type of trip, would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in the countryside of Iceland in order to see the northern lights!

Stayed here on a 3 day organised tour. Its just before you get into Vik. Its certainly not the kind of hotel i would have booked. However it was clean and warm and served its purpose. With it being half term break in the UK, like the other hotel we stayed in it also had a party of school kids...

This hotel is perfectly OK for a budget hotel. Rooms were comfortable (we had 4, one smelt musty and another of diesel for some reason - but opening the windows cleared that). The staff were friendly but not blindingly efficient. We were advised to eat late as there was a school party but once seated the waiters took half an...

I stayed here for two nights and had a very comfortable room which overlooked a mountain. The window would not open so the room got quite hot. There was a long power cut during my stay which the kitchen and serving staff coped with admirably. The refectory style dining room was full and very noisy. There were no candles or...

We spent just one night here but it was a great visit. Our room was in a new building next to the main building. Our room was very new and clean, very comfortable. Great beds and a good shower. We also had dinner in the hotel and eventhough there was a large group of Asian tourists there, we were served...

This modest hotel has world-class staff. The rooms are safe and clean, and the dining room comparable with most I experienced on my mid-budget trip to Iceland. However, the staff were outstanding. The hotel is challenging to find in the dark and located at the top of a small mountain on a dirt road. It is probably a fine drive...

We had a one night stay here while touring Iceland. The website that I booked on didn't offer a family room but I'd requested 2 rooms next to each other. When we arrived the person at the desk asked if we'd prefer a family room, and explained that they'd set up a bigger room and also 2 double rooms for...

Had a winter holiday in Iceland, stayed a night at Hotel Dyrholaey. Didn't really have a day time view, arrived at night, left in the morning while it was still dark. My impression is the hotel is a no frills hotel, ample space for car park, sits on a little hill (not sure what's the view). Rooms are decent, but...

We travelled here as part of our itinerary with a school party via 'Discover the World'. The hotel looks like a concentration camp from the outside, but the views are incredible and this is an excellent place from which you could see the Northern Lights if the conditions are right. We ate well here in the evening (barbecue chicken) and...

The hotel is situated right on the top of the small hill with the open Ocien as the foreground, this is a million dollar view!! The hotel is in a low rise style with a bar at the lobby. I spent long hour at night in a very comfort sofa to drink and chat with my friend in a really...
