We went for a four-night trip to Iceland and we're excited about staying at this hotel. As a Diamond member, they gave access to the executive lounge, which is open 7 days a week, unlike some U.S. properties. Free breakfast and free beer was a...More
Stayed in Hilton three different times over two weeks. First visit the luggage was not delivered for 90 minutes even though it was downstairs even though I called. I made a written complaint and got a drink voucher after I requested it. Next visit a...More

We apologize we were not able to provide you with the quality of services you deserve. This is uncharacteristic of our hotel and staff, and we are always looking for ways to improve our customer experience. Your satisfaction is very important to us and we...More
We had two rooms which were surprisingly ready for an early morning check-in. The rooms were a little warm and the black-out blinds in one of the rooms were yellow--not very effective. The hotel was clean and the concierge lounge was nice with beautiful views...More

So, there's not a lot of competition in mainstream brands in Iceland (which can be a great thing for independent companies), but if I were to compare this Hilton property to the standard of the others, it's average (maybe slightly below even). The lack of...More

I had a great stay at this hotel. It feels really modern yet classy. I guess it is more suited to business clients, but still great for tourists with a higher budget!
The room was quite small yet had a cozy feel. The bed and...More

Greyline offers the best options, as you can pick your departure time from either the airport or your hotel, then come back on any bus later in the day (so you can stay for an hour or 6 hours if you want). We paid around $120 to go from our hotel and booked it through Viator. So I would check Viator for the tour options or your hotel concierge by calling them or emailing them to book it.

The city bus stops directly in front of the main doors of the hotel across the street. It's maybe a 1 minute walk out the front door to the bus stop. I don't know the bus numbers that stop there, but there are several buses. The bus routes are shown at the bus stop.
It takes roughly 5-10 minutes to get to center city on the bus. You can actually walk the route in about 20-25 minutes depending on where you are going.
We used the bus once and took it to the National Museum of Iceland and then walked back, stopping at the Hallgrimskirkja before continuing on. It took about 20 minutes from the church back to the hotel and about 15 minutes from the Museum to the church.
I can't remember the price of the bus ticket (300 or 400 krona?), but you can get the tickets directly from the hotel concierge and if you do not use then, you can return them for a full refund.
I don't know how later the run, but my guess is at least until 9 PM.
