Fantastic location in easy walking distance to restaurants and points of interest. Room was quiet, clean & bright, and hosts were friendly. Reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend. Bonus - just a ten minute walk to the public pool.

Hotel was excellent, staff friendly, room very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here. Just don't book Grayline hotel pick up to the airport, they let us down twice resulting in a mad dash to the airport and £100 taxi bill. Hotel were excellent in arranging the taxi, shame Grayline were so poor

Location of guesthouse within easy walking distance of Main Street. Breakfast ok but nothing special. Shame about the cat wandering through the dining room and the kitchen. Good value for money , we stayed in the apartment, sorry converted garage! But it was clean and we had everything we required. I would recommend it as good value which in Iceland...

Historic home within walking distance of downtown shopping and sites. If you want a feeling of how Icelanders live this is a good place. Owner was informative. Breakfast was quite nice.Great character in a historic BNB.

Stayed in a studio apartment (Room 2). It was very warm and the beds were comfortable. The guesthouse is a five to ten minute walk to the central shopping area in town with many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Cannot speak highly enough of the owners and staff, who were all extremely friendly and helpful, including the resident...

The guesthouse is an old building with multiple rooms available. I visited with my mother and we had a 2 bedroom apartment which was excellent value for money especially given the price of accommodation in Reykjavík. The guesthouse also offer an excellent continental style breakfast at a great price which will easily set you up for the day. I would...

My 20 year old son and I stayed a total of six nights at this wonderful guesthouse. We had the pleasure of staying in two different apartment, the first being a one bed-roomed garden apartment followed at a later date by a very spacious two bed-roomed apartment. It was like home from home, warm and cosy with heated floors and...

Guesthouse Galtafell should probably be renamed to 'Heaven', as it is the BEST stay abroad I've ever had. The hosts, Thorey and Arni, are incredibly warm and welcoming, and immediately make you feel 'at home' upon arrival. If you are seeking advice or ideas on how to spend your time in Iceland, they are overflowing with suggestions and ways to...

We had a wonderful stay at the Guesthouse. The room (7) was spartan but warm and cosy, which was needed as the weather (as it always is in Iceland) was wet and windy at times. All that we would suggest was maybe a coathook on the back of the door to hang wet jackets after a day out. We were...
