For someone spending upto 4-5 nights on an Iceland trip, the location of this hotel is perfect. Very centrally located- near the bars, the Harpa Center, food places, Super Markets. It really cannot get better than that. Rooms are on the smaller side; but works for a couple. Clean contemporary furniture. Bathroom well tocked with towels and toiletries. There is...

The best thing about the hotel is its location. Many rooms are ridiculously small, not even room for a suitcase. We expressed dismay and were upgraded for an extra $25 per night, origianlly they wanted $90 but we were able to talk them down. (they said three catagories, but not certain how it would be so). They called it a...

This hotel was recommended to me by Andrea Andrade of AMT Travel Services and given her expertise on all things Iceland I was expecting more. The location is GREAT, however, the overall ambiance is dark and small. The room interiors maximize the available space but two people in a standard room felt quite crowded. Free wifi was nice and the...

Stayed at Thingholt for my birthday and our wedding anniversary. I'm a sucker for "boutique" hotels and Thingholt fit the bill: Style: hotel looks unprepossessing from the outside, just a large doorway on an anonymous street, but once inside, it's all dark leather and wood in a "2000s whisky bar" style (down to the actual bottles of whisky on display)....

I chose this hotel for the looks alone. I disregarded all the complaints for the noise...OH HOW WRONG I WAS. I love the look and the feeling of the hotel. The look of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff is the reason I gave it 4 stars. The room size was what I expected, and I was happy...

We stayed at the center hotel for 8 nights. Here is the good - VERY centrally located - free WiFi - free breakfast - SUPER Nice staff! Here is the not-so-good - breakfast could be better. - tiny rooms - can get noisy depending on which room you are in (we were on the top level and could hear the...

See below. The staff at the front desk submitted our first night problem to management for response and the only response we got was that the 2nd night was not refundable! That was the response from Management. I believe that we were just lucky that the young people were not partying so hard that evening or it would have been...

Great Central location comes at a cost....... Noise. Hotel very quiet BUT revelry from nearby pubs may be a problem if you're not participating. Dining ok but there are plenty of restaurants cafes bistros within 5 minutes walk. Bathroom ok but not very private and I don't like showering in a bath. Staff and service excellent My first visit to...

We got a room on the 4th floor with a view of the harbor. Very comfortable, good bathroom - our room did not have the tub in the middle like some pictures we saw - it was all in the bathroom. The room was quiet and relatively spacious by Euro standards. Breakfast included, which was decent with plenty of options....
