no frills 3 star hotel. rooms are basic but comfortable, carpets are rather dirty though. shower area is small and water does end up spilling out even with the shower curtain. breakfast is a delight with many choices including self made waffles. if u get a room facing the sea, you may just catch the northern lights if you are... This was our first time in Iceland, we booked the Baron hotel for 8 nights. The pics on trip advisor and other sites are outdated. This is bc the hotel has been renovating their rooms. Fortunately we got a renovated room with a balcony and ocean view! Which was amazing! The room literally looked like the style of our home,... More

It's a cheap three star hotel which is presumably, why your looking at it. We had a three night stay booked with Thomson's. It's a basic clean hotel and we found the staff helpful and the breakfast more than adequate. If. Your planning day trips you will only be in the hotel to sleep, leave your bags and get clean... If you like basic this is the hotel for you. Rooms very small breakfast room overcrouded the shower is so small I could hardly clean myself and most of the water ended up on the floor out of the tinny place for the shower. The soup in the evening was advertised with crusty bread this turned out to be slices... More

The hotel was in the right spot for everything. It was a short walk to Laugavegur near all The shopping, bars and restaurants. There is a free parking lot out front so it's very convenient. Tour buses pick up tight out front of the hotel. The views overlook the waterfront and are beautiful. The breakfast is plentiful with a lot... More

Dear Lollygal, Thank you for taking the time to write us your comments about your stay with us. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit. I am sad to hear that the breakfast staff was rude to you. I have never before heard that they ask guests to leave before the breakfast closes at 10 am, I... More

Not a luxury hotel, but the Fosshotel Baron is just a few blocks from one of the most popular streets in town. I had a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the parking lot out front (cars park free). Room was much bigger than expected and while minimal in amenities, had everything I needed. Lots of good... More

Close to Harpa and downtown major shopping area. Front desk very helpful in recommending and booking tours. Family quad is big and functional with a separate bedroom for kids. Free breakfast is of good value and includes some local flavors - kids like it a lot. Overall a great place to stay without having to break your bank account in... More

Stayed here recently for three nights, Staff were very friendly and helpful, they booked trips and airport transfers. Hotel is clean and nice and warm, despite the amount of people staying the hotel is quiet with little or no noise. Breakfast offers a decent selection, and there is tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. Hotel is ideally situated with the sea... More

We booked this hotel using a Groupon that covered air travel & room. The room was unremarkable, other than the view of the ocean, which was nice. Breakfast was included, which was a great bonus, as food is very expensive in Reykjavik. The room was clean and well-maintained. We arrived during the morning rush and the room was not ready.... Clean, warm and great location. Staff are very helpful and attentive going out of their way to assist you with trips or advice on restaurants or things to do. Breakfast has a good selection of food and opened early for people with early transfers to the airport.
