Visited the Center Hotel for 4 nights during November 2016. We arrived in the early hours of the morning where the receptionist checked us in quickly. The room was small but was clean, tidy and well equipped. The breakfast although limited was fantastic value for money. If you are looking for a hotel with friendly staff and a central location...

A smallish hotel right in the centre of downtown Reykjavik. You go out the front door and you're right there amongst shops, bars and restaurants and only a short walk to the breathtaking "Hallgrimskirkja" church, or head in the other direction (and a bit further) to the harbour. The hotel is basic but adequate. Our room, 304, was on the...

Just came back from a mini break to Reykjavik and stayed at the Skjaldbreid, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The location is brilliant, I much preferred the downtown area of the city and there are some brilliant restaurants close by. The rooms are basic but the beds are super comfy and you have everything you need.

Located right in the heart of Reykjavik which was very convenient and allowed us to be central for food, drink and sightseeing. Pickups for excursions also meant we were picked up outside the front door which was again ideal, and the hotel itself was simple but of a high standard. Room was on the small side however had everything we...

We have just spent 5 nights at this hotel and were very pleased. The rooms aren't the biggest but they do have everything you need, comfortable beds, nice bed linen, very good shower with plenty of hot water. Tea making equipment and a mini fridge to keep your beers cold. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is...

Unassuming single door entrance. Note there are three large and fairly steep steps to get in. when you get in the reception desk is on the 2nd floor so you either climb more fairly narrow stairs of after the first flight you take the lift. Receptionist very friendly, english speaking. asked us about trips especially Northern Lights (apparently they get...

I have mixed views on this hotel. It was advertised as a 4 star but it definitely wasn't. When you arrive you have to carry your cases up approximately 9 steps, 5 outside the building and 4 inside before arriving at a lift that takes you up to reception. This was not mentioned anywhere so beware if you have difficulties...

Pro's: My mum and I stayed here for a short 4 night break in October. The hotel is smack bang in the middle of Reykjavik high street, which was great because you had everything on your doorstep. The front door is up two steps and once inside you step up two steps to the lift. Reception is on the 2nd...
