The hotel is situated about a 15-20 minute walk from Reykjavik Ctiy Centre and our overall stay was great. Check in was quick and efficient and the reception area was very clean and tidy with a bar/restaurant and plenty of seating. Our room was on the fourth floor with an outer view. The room itself was spotless with plenty of...

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Concierge particularly helpful. Iceland is very expensive so take advantage of happy hour 5-7pm which means cocktails are half price at £9. Breakfast was very good. American/English style with all what you would expect. Taxis are about £16 for five min journey. Tours often cancelled if weather bad but hotel displays this info or has if...

We only stayed here one night at the end of our trip through southern Iceland. The hotel is a bit outside the city center but a shuttle service is available for free. We got an upgrade, never happened to me before! Very nice room. Good breakfast.

We were pleased with the comfort of the room as well the close vicinity to the city center (about 1 mile away). The hotel rooms were large and ours included a nice bath tub. Would definitely stay again.

Just arrived back home after a 4 day stay here, hotel very good, was lots of choice for breakfast but got very busy, difficulty finding a table around 730 but It did appear to quieten down a bit later . Happy hour in bar between 1700 - 1900 hrs when drinks reasonably priced. Bedroom had everything needed bed was very...

I strongly recommend their lobster soup ! The staff is very nice! I thank Karolina from the front desk for her excellent service and the gentleman at the tours desk was so nice,...

We were pleased with the free parking when we arrived and impressed by the grand lobby area. The receptionist was lovely and really helpful. She advised that our room was not quite ready. We sat in the lobby and she rang a restaurant to make us a dinner reservation. I had a cup of tea whilst we waited. The milk...

We chose this on personal recommendation and didn't check out Tripadviser before travelling - mistake! A lot of the negatives reported were true for us. I will start with the positives: The room was big and very clean. The staff were polite and helpful. The reception area was pleasant. The location was convenient - we walked into to town several...

A wonderful 4-night family stay as first-timers to Iceland. We were slightly apprehensive having read the good and less good reviews by others....but are now glad to add our 5-star endorsement to the list of happy visitors. We had a spacious ground-floor family room with 3 comfortable double beds. Reykjavik's hot water comes from a geothermal source, so there was...

I have stayed at several hotels in Reykjavik including The Grand several times in the past couple of years. The Grand is a great hotel comperable to any large chain hotel. The ammenities are great. It is an easy 3 minute drive into town. Staff are always helpful.
