The location of the hotel is ideal when exploring downtown Reykjavik. The décor is very nice and the rooms are well-appointed. The staff could have been friendlier or more welcoming on our arrival, but the overall experience was very good.

After driving around the "outback" of Iceland for 2 days, it was great to land at the Hotel Borg. The staff welcomed us warmly and the room was lovely and plush. We were there out of the normal tourist season so the cost was reasonable for a 4 or 5 star hotel.

For starters they upgraded us to the Tower Suite which could very well be the nicest hotel room in Reykjavik. Very swanky 2 floor suite with an upstairs "tower" living room. The hotel and its rooms are decorated in the art deco style and appeared to have been renovated fairly recently. Very clean hotel & rooms with very comfortable guest... More

Great location, friendly staff, great breakfast but at almost $500/nite, way over priced. Our room was a garret room in the new wing. It was small and not well designed. I got out of bed one one night and smashed my head against the wall because the room was so small, the bed was too close to the eave. The... More

This hotel is the best combination I have seen in years of a hotel that is both clean, roomy, and very well maintained at the same time that it is a classic old-school stylish graceful quiet hotel that I would have expected as a luxury traveller in the 1930's. The staff treats you like royalty and it is easy to... More

It's a rather nice, Art Deco hotel. Friendly, helpful staff and truly splendid food. Worth visiting for the restaurant alone! The concierge was very helpful in organising and suggesting excursions. I very much enjoyed my time there and I will certainly stay there again the next time I'm in Reykjavik.

On first impressions Hotel Borg is smart, stylish, clean and welcoming. However, there were some housekeeping issues which I would not expect from a 4 star hotel. The sheet on my bed did not cover the mattress so my pillows were against an uncovered mattress (no mattress cover). I left a note out for the maid to rectify this and... More

In the middle of everything and not far from anything. A four star hotel, it even has rooms for solo travelers. Staff is friendly and after a couple of nights knows you. Room has most of what you need, including free Wifi, flat screen TV and kettle with tea, coffee, chocolate, but oddly not a clock. Bathroom robe, all unguents,... More

We began and ended our visit to Iceland in the Hotel Borg. The staff was extremely helpful with the complications of our travel plans--renting a car and driving the circumference of the country. Spent two nights here at the end of our Iceland trip. Hotel is well located and has an art deco feeling inside. Small lobby connecting to the hotel's restaurant both small but quaint.
