You can't beat the location - on the main tourist street with easy access from the bus terminal. Check in easy and smooth but it is located in the back of the main floor restaurant; we stayed for 3 nights (and did not have any of the booking issues other people have mentioned). Rooms on the smaller side, but still...

This place was great, very clean and bright. On the week ends there was a little bit of noise because of the bars in the area but it was fine ones the window was closed. The service was very good. The people wire very nice and helpful. I had a sharing bedroom but ended up alone wish was great.

The location of this hostel is ideal. Unfortunately nothing else was. It was dirty, loud, disorganised and staff were unhelpful. Due to system errors on their part I was moved twice, once without notice, so I came back late one night after a day out to find my stuff had been removed from the room and put into storage. They...

Stayed here in July with my father and sister on a dive trip. Don't get me wrong the place is clean enough, the staff are nice but the place is just run like a disaster. We booked 4 nights a month in advance. When we arrived they told us there had been a problem and we'd have to move on...

I've stayed here two years running for short periods while in Reykjavik. This is a wonderfully central location on the main drag, Laugarvegur with lots of nearby bars and restaurants. Unless you dont mind frenetic partying and lots of noise, try and stay here on weekdays, when the bars dont open so late. The staff are all young, chilled out...

Hi there and thank you for staying with us here at Reykjavík Backpackers. Thank you for your kind and honest review! We completely agree with you regarding the common rooms that are not in use at the moment but they are scheduled to re-open soon. Like you said, we feel our hostel guest need to have a place where they...

I'm used to all kinds of hostels and as far as they go, this one is not bad. Very centrally located, a kitchen, a common room a great bar below. Enough showers and toilets to not have lines and they were kept as clean as one could expect. The private room we booked was reasonably spacious but some cleaning might...

Hi there and thank you for staying with us here at Reykjavik Backpackers! Thank you for your review. Reykjavik Backpackers always tries to stay the cheapest hostel in central Reykjavik and during high season we have managed to keep our room prices lower than any other hostel in the nearby area. Thank you again and hope to see you here...

The location was unbeatable, staff was helpful. Downsides were that there was a lot of noise coming from nearby bars, wifi didn't work in my room, bathrooms and showers were a bit smelly, and sheets were only provided if you paid a fee. No breakfast included, most hostels I've stayed in had this.

Decent place with cool decor, hot showers (everywhere in Iceland). Prices are regular expensive Iceland but not too bad to have a bar downstairs Kitchen is good and there is a balcony, good for soaking in some midnight sun Bit slow operations on the hostel front and some unecessary add-ons like duvet and key for locker

Hi there and thank you for staying with us at the Reykjavik Backpackers! Thank you for your pleasant review. We hope to see you sometime again here at our hostel. We have some new staff in the lobby that need some more experience but we are doing our best to train them into the job. Best regards from Iceland, -...

The room is quite dirty with the chewed bubble gum and dusty. Blanket will not be provided unless you PAY 1,900 ISK first! The location is convenient, but i think this is the one and only one reason for choosing this hostel.

Hi there and thank you for staying with us at the Reykjavik Backpackers! We are sorry about the dusty room and are doing our best to up our housekeeping quality. You are right about the blankets being excluded in the room price but they are 1090 ISK not 1900, quite a big difference there ;) Thank you again for your...

Noisy, basic place with a confusing entrance. When I arrived and saw they offer you earplugs at the reception I knew it was going to be a rough night. Yes, as other reviewers mentioned, there's quite some noise coming from a nearby nightclub. But unfortunately, there's also noise coming from other guests who won't care about anyone else's sleep (even...

Hi there and thank you for staying with us at the Reykjavik Backpackers! Our hostel is located on the main street in the city center, a perfect location and as central as you can possibly get. This area is also where the bars and pubs are located. Reykjavík boasts itself of an amazing nightlife especially during weekends so there is...
