We stayed here for 1 week in March. Our first time in Iceland. Great place, comfortable, clean and right downtown close to many of the sites-Harbour, Churches, shopping, Grocery Store (Bonus) etc… Has all the right amenities for the do it yourselfers. Highly recommend this place. We will come back to stay and hope it is available.

My mother stayed at Stay Apartments Gréttisgata for 5 nights. Unfortunately there was heavy construction work on the property (a new corrugated iron front was added) between 8:00 and 18:00 which she was not informed about before her arrival. Building material and dirt everywhere on the property, partly with sharp edges, noisy machines cutting the iron, open unsecured gully covers...

Stayed here for 3 nights in Nov in an apartment down the road due to building works. We were sent an email confirmation confirming this months in advance. Had a lovely stay in a one bed apartment. All facilities that we could ask for even Netflix for a chilled night in after being out all day. We stayed in Grettisgata...

We arrived to the place to collect the keys to find it an actual building site! It is being completely gutted out and scaffolding is everywhere including builders...we couldn't believe it when we actually realized that that is the building. There is not a note/email/FYI anywhere in my confirmation to expect a building site upon arrival so not a good...

The apartment we stayed in was down the road. Instructions to get in were good but needed to be - sequence of three keys need once you find the place. Remember to wait outside 43 for coach pickups. Grey apartment block not very welcoming but once your in the apartment it was great - spacious, comfortable, quite but handy for...

The first thing I want to say about this place is - they absolutely will NOT accommodate an early check in. So if your plane lands at 5 am, like ours did, plan on wandering the city until the 3 pm check-in and don't bother asking if you can get in early. Don't use the luggage storage room - it's...

The self-service style of the hotel was convenient for us as we arrived quite late, and it didn't matter. It basically means you get a code to get in to a common room, where an envelope is left with your name on it and the key to your room inside. Which is a bit of an honesty system as someone...

Initial place were we picked the keys up going through major building works which was not advertised. Told to come back at 3 for the key and a map on how to get to new apartments. New apartment very nice. Didn't see staff for 4 days and had to make do with same towels.. Luckily we had our own. Apartment...

It is a "self service" hotel, so there's no desk attendant, which we were aware of, and it wasn't much of a problem at all. Check in went smoothly. Bathroom had no means of ventilation, so after we used the shower once, the room was humid for the rest of our stay. Over time this has led to black mold...

We booked our Iceland accommodation on line and after reading the wide range of reviews on several sites, we decided to stay with Stay anyway. We don't regret that decision too much yet there were some very unpleasant aspects to it that, had we known, may have influenced our decision. We booked a double room as we have always done....
