We have just stayed here for a weekend break in Reykjavik. Nearby/very close: Laugavegur, Harpa Centre, Flea Market, lots of restaurants and shops, visitors centre, Settlement Museum and Hallgrimskirkja. The staff members were very pleasant. I emailed very early in the morning of our arrival to say that we were going to arrive well before 2pm check in, and could...

I stayed in the 10-bed women's dorm. It was very clean. Everyone in my room was very respectful, even though everyone was coming and going on their own schedule. Reading lights above each bed make it easy for folks to avoid turning on the room light when they came in late or left early. In walking distance to a lot...

I stayed three nights at the Reykjavik Downtown Hostel. I booked through airbnb and Thomas and his staff sent me very clear directions on how to get to the hostel from Keflavik (KEF). The hostel is located in a very central location of Reykjavik. It's near plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes. I stayed in a 10-person dorm room (Rm#11),...

Our room is designed for 4 people so much bigger than we expect. Room is clean and wifi connection is good. There is a fridge in public kitchen, which is convenient. The staffs are very informative. The location is very convenient. Bed is a bit soft which we are not used to. The room is a bit pricey for me...

I stayed here for 4 nights. On one of the nights there were travellers talking right outside of my dorm room at 3am. They were loud enough that I was able to hear the entire conversation. And I am a little surprised they weren't told to stop. On a different night, there was a group of youths who occupied the...

We stayed one night in a multi-bed mixed dorm. All bedding was supplied and was clean. Amazingly around ten of us coped with sharing one bathroom which had toilet & shower together. Only problem was the in-house cafe didn't open early enough for the start of our trip but a very kind staff member offered to make us coffee anyway...

Very nice hostel, clean and welcoming. The location is very central. They help you organize trips, call taxis and offer breakfast and a selection of cakes & coffees. Highly recommended for those looking for a good price-quality ratio.

A Very good hostel. Location is very convenient being in the downtown area, basically near everything significant from the harbor, restaurants and tourist landmarks. Staff were very helpful and always available at the desk 24/7. Room, we got a private double room and it was big, well lit and modern. Beds were comfy and the bathroom big and clean. Security...

I stayed in Downtown Hostel for a week and it was amazing! Got to meet nice people and the place in itself was a great crashing spot between visits. Also, the staff was really nice and friendly. I'll definitely come back there on my next trip to Iceland!

This is a great base camp for reykjavik because of the following reasons: 1) FlyBus from the airport has a pickup and dropoff point directly from this hotel. 2) Location is right smack at downtown. It's also near the port so you can just walk around from this place. 3) Staff was very helpful. Reception is open 24/7 so you...
