Within walking distance of the town centre. Has a couple of inexpensive restaurants (by Icelandic standards) within 300 metres. Small but comfortable room and a good breakfast. Edda provided us with a packed breakfast when we had to catch a 6:30am flight from Keflavik on our last day. Lovely people!

Nice, cozy and home-like accommodation with very quiet and central location. We had even a small kitchen in our room for 3 persons. Very friendly hostess and host. Good breakfast served i around one big table. Good value for money. I recommend.

TAKK to Edda and Rúnar, the hosts of Eric the Red, who made my stay very cosy and pleasant at the end of October. Staying at their guesthouse felt like home and it was nice to exchange views with the other guests over a rich breakfast. For cat lovers there is an added bonus: Raggi, their beautiful ginger cat. Edda...

It's easy to find being so close to the landmark Hallgrimskirkja church but from outside the Eric The Red Guesthouse you will have no idea how wonderful it is inside. First there is the warm welcome from hosts Edda and Runar. Then you see all the wonderful paintings in the lobby, up the staircase, in the first floor sitting area...

Unfortunately, did not get to stay in the Guesthouse, as it was sold out, but was able to rent the 2 bedroom loft apartment run by Edda and Rúnar. Edda took us from the Guesthouse to the apartment and showed us around. She even dropped us off at Bonus so we could pick up some breakfast items before the store...

The best thing about this guest house is location, full stop. Easy walking distance to town. Some things to be aware of, the guesthouse is not the same as the photo shown on website which makes it initially hard to find. It would be helpful to have an address showing on the building somewhere. The address is Eiriksgata 6, Reykjavik....

We are currently staying here in Eric the Red apartment which is a short walk from the guesthouse. The apartment is lovely, clean and spacious with wifi and centrally heated all day long from the underground heat system. We would like to give a special mention to Ragga who walked us to the apartment, helped us by making some local...

Great location and friendly staff who made our stay very pleasant. The breakfast was fantastic and I'd stay again. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and it was a fairly short walk to the city center.

We stayed for two nights at Eric the Red in October. The rooms are quite large by reykjavik standards and are very comfortable. The bathroom is shared by all the rooms on the lower level but it helps that each of the rooms also has it's own sink so time waiting for the shared bathroom is minimized. It was never...
