I've never posted a review on TripAdvisor but had to just for this place - the staff was wonderful and welcoming, allowing us to check-out after the 11 AM designated check-out time. The breakfast is self-serve, self-clean and basic, but still quite lovely and they supply you with everything you need. Should you need more, each room has it's own...

My husband and I stayed at the Butterfly guesthouse for 3 nights in May. The location was perfect - it was a short walk to everything. Because food is so expensive in Reykjavik, we especially appreciated that we had storage space in the shared kitchen (cabinets as well as a shelf in the fridge). The shared spaces were decorated so...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the guesthose for 3 days. My boyfriend studied and lived at the guesthouse for 6 month in 2007. He said that it felt like coming home. I felt the same after just one day. A warm, cozy feeling. Very calm and quiet but still in the center and not far from everything you want...

We stayed a total of 3 nights on either side of a ski trip to the north. Everything worked our really well, the room was clean and comfortable and we slept well. Location was excellent, we were 5 min walk from the center of town and we saw all the sights we wanted to see with ease. While no one...

I can't recommend Butterfly Guesthouse highly enough. If you want experience real taste of Iceland, this is the place you should stay in. Located just 3min walk to the center of the city, marina and other attractions. But the real secret is hidden inside the guesthouse. Collections of porcelain and interior decorations gives this place original, traditional Icelandic style. After...

We stayed at the butterfly guesthouse in Feb in the triple room with a small bathroom. The room itself was spacious, warm and very clean. We ended up using the main common bathroom as it was just outside our room and not crowded. Jon was the most helpful host and made sure all his guests were comfortable. The bathrooms are...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Butterfly. The owners were very responsive and helpful during our planning for the trip, answering questions even unrelated to housing. They were helpful around our arrival and departure schedules for which we are really grateful. Parking can be a challenge. (Do Not try to park there even for a few minutes without paying...

Jon the host was very kind both before and during the stay. The place was clean and nice, and the room was spacious with good beds. The breakfast could be of a higher quality, but it was ok. The city center is within a short walks distance.

This was our first visit to Iceland and we would recommend this guesthouse as it was just a short walk to the town centre. We had a studio (no. 9) being a large room with a shower room and all kitchen facilities. The staff were very friendly, Jon replied to all our emails very quickly and gave us plenty of...

I spent a long time trying to decide where to stay, and am so glad I selected Butterfly. The location was great-- on a neighborhood block, but just seconds from downtown, coffee, food, shopping, attractions. We were there late November- cold and snowy- but still walked pretty much everywhere when in town. We got lucky and always found parking right...
