For those planning to stay in Reykjavik for more than a few days this is a perfect place. We stayed for 5 nights and all the way pleased with it. The room was lovely: clean and well equipped. The internet was steady at all times. The location is central and makes visiting attractions / nightlife very easy as noted by...

We looked long and hard at where to stay on our visit to Iceland. We choose The House of the Spirits based on the owners description of what the B&B offered. Every bit of his comments are correct and we had a wonderful visit for four days. Location, location and price made for a great time. The writeup you will...

We love staying at the House of Spirits, Gunnar has become our best friend. This has been our fourth time to Iceland and we brought our elderly parents with us and they loved him immediately. Him and his assistants did everything to make our stay go as smoothly as possible and he is just so charming and so dear to...

Friendly and home are the first words that comes to my mind to describe this guesthouse, where I have stayed at several occations. The rooms are well equipped, and the feeling of being at home is very much present. Perfect location for most activities in Reykjavík. Good internet service.

House of the Spirits is within blocks of most of the major tourist attractions. The owner Gunnar has added very helpful information to the website about where to park for free and maps and is generous with suggestions about where to go. The self-serve breakfast of granola, yogurt, and milk is more than plenty. You can get used to the...

Perfect location for exploring the scene in Reyk! Walking distance from all of the hot spots -- we had a fun night out dancing at Kiki's and the cafe/bar below. Our room at House of Spirits had coffee & milk stocked, a kitchenette and shower "en suite." And with a little help from 2 very reliable radiators, our stay was...

We stayed here for 5 nights in February this year. We booked a studio but ended up being put in the large 2 bed apartment on the top floor. The apartment was lovely and cosy with a very well equipped kitchen and everything you could possibly need. The location is excellent, very central and a great base for excursions. Would...

We were three couples and Gunnar arranged us to have the first floor where three en suite rooms with kitchenettes open into a dining room where we could sit and dine. As others have said it is around 100m to the harbour, supermarkets, parliament, shopping. Nearby restaurants mean you can walk back without driving, and we tried three and all...

We have stayed at Gunnar's lovely guest house on two different trips to Iceland, and consider it our home away from home in Reykjavik. The location is a short walk to everything, and there is public parking on nearby streets should you choose to rent a car. It can be hard to choose a guest house in Reykjavik as there...
