You can only review Hotel Reykanes in the context of its location. This is the middle of nowhere, one of the most remote places in Europe. So don't expect hotels to be like hotels you are used to. I didn't expect that. I came to this part of Iceland for something different and I got it. Hotel Reykjanes is similar...

Lovely hotel. Stayed for 4 nights and loved returning there each day after our exploring of the West Fjorland. The big draw is obviously the pool which might juts be my favourite place on earth! Lovely and hot and nice changing rooms. Breakfast is basic - they don't do hot food. There is cereal, toast, cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs....

Very interesting place. Overall we enjoyed it for one night. The owner was great and went the extra mile for our needs. That said is an old school and is used by government for training groups and has a vey institutional, almost creepy, feel. Room was like being back in college dorm room. Not especially clean. Shared baths and showers....

An old boarding school turned hotel, this place is one of my favorites. It is just off the main road but soooo peaceful... The place is very geothermally active, you can see steam rising from the ground in several places, including the beach! It is also one of very few places in Iceland where you can find fragments of corals...

We just saw the big pool from the road and stoped for a relaxing time in the big old pool. The changing rooms and showers are quite small but clean. Price was OK an you where allowed to drink your cold beer inside the hot pool... Loved it!!!

On their website they say "All the facilities for the Campsite are run and closely linked to the hotel so they are in accordance with hotel standards." What they don't say is that the facilities are tiny (one toilet and shower, a few tables, no real kitchen area)... On their website they say "The showers are open to all our...

Unfortunately the first impression of the Hotel Reykjanes is not very inviting. It looks like a school (and it has been one decades ago I was told later) but after the stay my impression was positive: the staff is very friendly, the rooms are simple but clean, there is a restaurant and especially an outdoor pool which is open until...

I love being here, relaxing, tranquil, hot pool and a sauna. Lovely nature all around, simple rooms, simple life. Your decision here are like "what should I read?", "should I swim for 1 or 5 hours? " and "if pi is a natural number, should I eat pie all day while reading my book in the pool?"

We had a gathering with the family and from the start the attitude was poor. Some of us had apparments and they were not with all you need to stay there. The prize of the stay was way of the normal and hospitality was lacking. The hot pool is great and changing room also. But the rest was poor. After...

Was there for one night. The rooms are way to hot! really hard to sleep there. The shared bathroom was nasty. and even when we woke up the next day the trash hadn´t been emptied in the bathroom. also in the bathrooms were the tents are, there wasn´t any toiletpaper in one stall early next day. Also the staff had...
