What a great view. Staff very friendly. Very quiet setting. Meals were amazing. Lounge area was very comfortable. Only complaint was the lack of and poor positioning of electrical outlets. Nothing near the desk so unable to charge laptop. Found the room fairly small and tight. Bed was comfortable.

We spent 3 days in Southern Iceland before heading to Reykjavik. This was our first stop as a place to rest and spend night. Perfect and simple accommodations in a small room with private bath. Free breakfast buffet in main building with cereal, toast, meats, cheeses and other Scandinavian accompaniments. Nothing fancy by any means but suited our needs. Would...

We have just come back from a road trip around Iceland. During our stay, there was a severe storm on the East coast, which meant we couldn't travel to the hostel we had booked. We had to book into Hof1 last minute. The room was pretty expensive for what it was, but this is Iceland afterall... The room was comfortable...

Hof 1 was very functional but nothing special. I felt like we were staying in a school camp! It was most probably the cheapest in the area so I couldn't really complain. The setting was really nice, and it was very convenient and near to Skaftafell info centre. Do your research before eating a meal here. We spent £90 for...

We needed a place close to Jökulsárlón (glacier bay in South Iceland) for our 8am Ice Cave tour. This place worked perfectly as far as location goes. The hotel itself seemed a little overpriced, but it was basically our only option for a three person room. We had a small three person room with a shared bathroom on the third...

Located seemingly in the middle of nowhere near the Vatnajökull National Park, Hof 1 Hotel offers pricey accommodations that suffice but don't particularly satisfy. The hotel's remote location meant that we could see the Northern Lights from the comfort of our well-heated rooms, and the hotel offered clean and comfortable rooms. The included breakfast spread was better than we expected,...

We stayed for 1 night en-route round Iceland with our baby son. The only real positives to the place were the location and the friendly staff. We arrived at 7pm and were glad to find that they could accommodate us for dinner, didn't mind a limited selection of food (asparagus soup followed by either lasagne, fish gratin or vegetable wrap,...

We are on a trip around Iceland and staying at many types of guest houses and hotels. The Hotel had a good sized triple room in the main building and had a number of shared bathroom facilities on our floor so this was not an issue. The dining area and lounge were if a good size and warm. The bedrooms...

As you approach this hotel, it looks lovely. The reception and dining areas are both well decorated and spacious. Unfortunately there aren't many more redeeming features. The rooms are cramped, and although having a sink in the room is useful, there were only two bathrooms on our floor and we did have to wait a few times. There were bugs...

I stayed at Hof 1 with my husband and another couple on a vacation and was extremely disappointed with the stay. It started with the front desk attendant being extremely rude. When having a convo with my husband about confirmation numbers, she kept interjecting and cutting us off. At dinner, they only have one dish option for all guests. The...
