Stayed here for 1 night. It's an OK hotel, the staff is very friendly, and the rooms are modern. Only minus was that you couldn't open the windows and air out, as the temperature was quite high in the rooms. They have a nice restaurant...More

We travelled to Hali Comfort Hotel in January this year - in a hired Toyota Landcruiser. We had no problems - weather was not that cold - so we didn't have to deal with snow or difficult conditions. But I don't think this would have been a problem - may have slowed things down a bit
if it was snowing. We loved having our own car (we were seven) - it allowed us to drive to the glacier lagoon when we wanted - we drove out at night to see the Northern Lights - it was amazing! It is a long drive to do in one day, particularly if you stop at one or two waterfalls along the way - but completely doable - leave Reykjavik early in the morning. We stayed two night at Hali and then one night at Vik on the way back up to Reykjavik. We booked an ice cave tour separately from an operator that picked us up at Hali Hotel.
