Hotel Glymur was our “indulgence stay” at the end of a long holiday. Situated overlooking the Hvalfjorur and out of town it is a little resort of self-contained comfort. The rooms are two level, having a mezzanine floor for the bed and a sitting area and bathroom on the main level. They are artistically presented; wood and iron with leather...

We have stayed in nicer places for much less. Unimpressed and disappointed given the cost. It is a beautiful location but the villas are designed to be self-catering (supplied with dishes and utensils) but were really lacking. There were industrial paper towels in the paper towel holder (meant for a roll), we had to ask for a knife, the hot...

I gave my wife one night and a dinner at Hotel Glymur as a wedding present when we got married in June. We went there a few days after we got married and decided to drive all of Hvalfjord as we had not done it in many years and this was our fist time together. The beauty and quiet we...

The hotel was clean, but the service was terrible. We got no help with bags or even an offer of help. The restaurant, which is in the hotel was poor. Poor service, cold food. By far our worst stop in our Iceland adventure. It seemed like the staff was poorly trained and didn't really care about our satisfaction. Skip it...

Me and my family went to Hotel Glymur to celebrate a big birthday and it was an unforgettable experience. Great rooms, nice to start the stay in the charming outdoor jacuzzis and the dinner was really delicious. The staff friendly and nice. We were also happy for a great breakfast buffet the next morning, one of the best I have...

We stayed in one of the cabins for three nights. It was excellent. Great hot tub with a fantastic view and great reception on TV - kept everyone happy with the world cup on!! Breakfast was a feast and catered for a variety of dietary needs. Beds were very comfortable and everything was spotless. Staff were very helpful - including...

The outside appearance of the hotel is quite plain, but inside is a treasure-trove of fascinating art, antiques and artifacts. We had a split-level room with a view of the fjord - it was very pleasant but felt a bit cramped for this price level. And we were very lucky to have brilliant sunshine but this meant the room got...
