A cozy and clean hotel. Breakfast is the same as in all other hotels of the Sokos chain, although here it is offered for several hours. The windows have a view of the roof of the shopping center (interior) or the central square. With room-specific cooling, the room can be very cool if necessary. Although there are several lamps in the room, the lighting is surprisingly low in the evening. Check-in takes a long time even if there is no queue and says he knows the hotel. The hotel has bicycles to borrow, which is a nice addition, because Vaasa is worth exploring. Also in the hallway, wooden disposable cutlery helps in preparing and eating a self-service dinner.

This hotel is located next to the marketplace in the Rewell shopping center. After staying one night in the Central Hotel, this hotel felt much more modern.
We booked a Junior Suite. There are four of them with different themes: Cloud, Forest, Bridge, and Christmas. Beforehand I emailed the hotel and asked for the Forest one.
The decor was very unique and you really got the forest feeling in this spacious room which was previously probably two separate rooms because there were two identical bathrooms, both with showers. Maybe there could have been done more renovation to get one bigger bathroom with both a tub and shower.
Breakfast was served on the 2nd floor at Venn restaurant. It was a little bit confusing breakfast for a first-timer. The food selection was quite good and fresher than we had at Central the previous morning.
There is also a Rosso restaurant next to Venn and the whole combination was quite confusing. We had dinner at Rosso and when coming from the lift you will come first at Venn and have to go through this restaurant to get to Rosso. Ilves Tampere offers the same kind of restaurant hassle which we don't like.
On the 9th floor, you will find the Sky Bar with great views over Vaasa.

Cycling friendly. Helpful receptionist that shared her local cycling knowledge and helped me to put my bike in the convenient storage room.
Good food in the restaurant and a nice sauna. However, breakfast is let down by the lack of real milk. There are plenty of nuts, muesli, seeds, nice breads, and fruit, but if you are a lactophile you leave breakfast with an unsatisfied feeling.
Also, bed is a bit soft which can make breathing a bit difficult if you tend towards the apneaic.

The location is the best among all hotels in Vaasa. The main shopping centre is in the same building. The main square and all the restaurants are also right around the hotel. I was given one of the refurbished rooms, which was clean, modern and overall one of the best rooms i have stayed in any hotel in Vaasa. The only negative thing in the room were the very cold floors. Pillows were kinda hard and felt like they were at the end of their life cycle too.
The staff at the reception were extremely friendly! One of the friendliest receptions I have ever received in Finland. They gave me my room at 1.30 pm even though the check in time is at 3. Pm. I want to thank them for doing that without me even asking for it. The breakfast was alright, nothing special, but overall better than the breakfast at Scandic Vaasa for example.
In case you are into fitnes, they have a gym and offer a free access to one of the best gyms in town which is 200m away from the hotel!

Basic city hotel in the heart of Vaasa, short walk from train station. Checked in on Sunday evening, very quiet everywhere and the only restaurant closing at 9.30pm. Standard room itself was small, bed was too high and soft. Didn't really like the room. What i liked was the breakfast, it was a full buffet.

Staff is very friendly, lobby looks comfy and our theme room was nice, spacious and clean. Air in the room was fresh and air conditioning worked perfectly. Wooden floor instead of dusty and disgusting carpet is great. Location very good but not very quiet. On third floor noices of traffic and market square may disturb. Breakfast was not 4 star hotel level. I've never had more dry and old croissant anywhere, scrambled eggs had weird bitter taste. Noticed that I wasn't only one who couldn't eat it. Carelian pies were nice, if they would have been coctail size they would have been even better.

A very nice hotel to stay at in Vaasa. The rooms are of high quality, I stayed in a Superior Twin which had a sauna - lovely room.
The service in the hotel was very good, booking was done directly over the phone. Staff were excellent.
Breakfast buffet was okay, nothing great but a good selection of food.

I stayed at Sokos hotel Vaakuna for one night during a business meeting in early August.
The hotel is centrally located, with an apparently fresh facelift, very attentive and pleasant staff, and also easy access through an underground parking facility (great during winter as well). I stayed in room 507 with a scenery overlooking the central market square.
Extra points for the surprisingly decent gym with basic exercise machines.
Otherwise, like most S-hotels, the rooms are very standard and somewhat boring. An issue that is difficult to avoid in normal business hotels. Extra points for easy access and free wifi.
The main question: Would I stay here the next time I come to Vaasa? Absolutely.

Cozy hotel, nice furnishings. Nice rooms. Very central location inside a mall. Close to pubs, bars, restaurants and shopping. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were great! Plenty to choose from, as all our meals consisted of buffet. Very friendly staff and helpful staff.

According to my knowledge extra beds are not an option at this hotel, and the rooms are as Frank O says quite small compared to us standard.
I would instead recommend Sokos Flamingo which is close to the airport as well, and they du have family rooms, and dining possibilities are better there
There are more places to choose from in the Vaasa area.
